    First build: Beacon Coronet

I got the bike pretty much completed, short of the head/tail lights and a front brake which I don't have right now. I didn't touch any of the patina so the bike almost looks like when I got it, the only real visual difference is that the handle bars are flipped. The shifter is a twist shift for...

    First build: Beacon Coronet

I picked up a twist shifter and got it mounted with the cable ran for the back, brake handle is mounted, different handle bars on actually the stock ones flipped. What I need are pedals, chain, bracket for the brake, and a brake cable then it should be ready to go. I'll try to get some new pics...

    First build: Beacon Coronet

I picked this bike up a couple of weeks ago and have been working on getting it road worthy again, only replacing what I need. I've got most of the bike assembled minus the important parts that move the bike. Here it is right now Red leather seat I picked up, 71 Schwinn wheels with 3 speed...

    Beacon

It's only a single speed for now. I got some Schwinn wheels that will be thrown on to make it a 3 speed. The guys at the shop said it much be an older English bike as well. edit: Did some more searching and finally dug deep enough to find out that it's a Beacon Coronet, late 70s'/early 80s

    Beacon

I bought a bike from a company called Beacon, serial #8250083 under the bottom bracket. Anyone know anything about them? I'm in the process of rebuilding it. The frame is at a shop since the seat post and bottom bracket are frozen.

    New to the bike world

You probably would be the best of help for me since I'm in Tallahassee as well. Right now I'm disassembling the bike, seeing what hardware I need to replace and such. Also found what I assume is the serial number on the bottom of the frame where the pedals are 8250083, 82 or 83 for manufacture...

    New to the bike world

I'm a new guy to building bikes, never ridden much though, so we'll see what I do with a bike I just picked up. I'm not new to wrenching though, I've done all sorts of work to my Grand Prix GTP. A guy I work with is into bikes and I picked one up from him to try it out. All I know is that it is...
