When I bought the tire patches from Walmart, the only ones they had were the green slime ones. I can tell you now that they suck! I tried them three times and each time they failed.

Went to a bike shop and after I explained I didn't want a 26x2 tube for my 26x3 tire, they caved in and sold me an old fashion vulcanizing patch kit.

This is the kind I learned to use when I was still knee-high to a goat

Yes, me too. That is why I was skeptical about the simple peel and stick green patches

Took the dropout extensions off and I could see where the carriage bolt had already left a square indention in the plate. I did some ugly filing and hammer of the carriage bolt partially into the plate. This should give the plate some added stability along with the way the square portion of both bolts fits within the frame dropout channel. Probably a little overkill, but why not.

Used a section of chain to test clearance with tires all pumped up. Looks like about 1/8"

Getting close to a rider
Had to dig through my box of chains, first to find that only half of them were single speed. Then stole master links from anyone those. Then found two that matched close enough style wise. Then pieced them together to fit the bike.

No special brake arm strap needed

Started looking at the saddle and realizes the left spring was rushed off where it connects to the seat frame.

Pulled out saddle that came with the Oriole. I had to disconnect it from the lucky 7 seatpost and flip the 7 around. One of the seat pan brackets that clamps to the spring assembly is broke, but the pan is still supported.
