Some pics from the first heat. It was hot of course and the whole loop was exposed to the sun. There was a hike-a-bike section from the start and it was pretty long. Previous abnormal rains made all the trails over grown and rutted so it was a hard slog, about 1/2 to 2/3rds dnf'd Enjoy!

this coaster brake arm attachment method is interesting.

and there's some neat cooling fins on some bikes.
 

Late 1970 early 1980's Klunker/MTB races looked like this. There was always hike a bike. We also had front brakes along with our wonderful (a little sarcasm) coaster brakes. All types of coasters were used and they all could cook eggs after steep downhills or even stopped working. Love what is going on in this video.
