The step-thru frame, for some reason, is sort of the redheaded step child of the vintage bike world. 'Boys' framed bikes are considered much more desireable and generally command much higher prices on the vintage collectors scene. But step-thru bikes are also super cool and really deserve some love. Originally designed to accommodate the long robes that priests and monks prefer they also worked great for the long skirts that women preferred to wear in the early days of cycling. Now they're considered the 'matching pair' bike, or the 'girfriend' bike. But I and many others think they are very cool in their own right. Given that and in light of the upcoming Step-Thru build off it seems like it would be cool to gather a bunch of pics of cool step-thrus in one thread for ideas and inspiration. And in some cases just some good old fashioned eye candy. So post any and all pics of cool step-thru styled bikes here. All styles, kustom, klunker, kruiser or just daily rider.

Here's some really cool ones built by RRB members.

I know there's a bunch more on the forum so if you bump into them please post them up!

Everybody loves a Canadian girl. I've got these two sitting in the garage, waiting for their turn

Does a mini mixte count as step through? This Supercycle Blue Angel has been Ms Dice's since new. Papa D loved the name, thought "blue angels" hilarious. He taught his daughter the fine art of methane burning

Sweet Marie has been in her family even longer. A little bit difficult to pin down the history, but she might have been Grandma Jean's back in the 60s.

She's cosmetically done, but needs just about everything mechanical, plus a weird pair of expensive and obsolete tires and an old saddle

Ride on! When I first started syncing with the klunker vibe ( only about a year ago) I quickly noticed you could find (lots of) step thru frames for half the price of a “boy’s” online.
I’m pushing 70 and stops & starts are becoming a little trickier. Step thrus mitigate that a bit. I love “cantilever” frames but the curvey girls bikes are super cool too. It’s all good!

Thanks for posting all the pics. That blue klunker with the tiny headlight looks like it would be Steve McQueens bike. And yes, he was man enough to ride a step through down the red carpet 🤣

One of my evil schemes involves a very hard to find frame. Husky Industrial, Ladies version View attachment 277131
I've been looking for a frame for years, this is literally the first time I've ever seen one in stock, and they're asking a grand for a complete, so I'll just keep dreaming.

Just a thought but the last time I wanted something from Husky that was out of stock I emailed them to confirm and they found me one
