Wow, glad you are ok!

I've been noticing more and more vehicles crossing the center line in my area. I've actually had this discussion with my wife and kids just a week ago warning them to stay aware of other drivers even more than usual.
Thanks!

I live and work in the mountains and have to deal with oncoming traffic coming over the centerline on a daily basis. I'm pretty good at dodging them but with that embankment next to the road I just had nowhere to go this time.

lucky escape my friend lucky escape indeed, even though you thankfully came away relatively unscathed I hope you go and get checked out in a few weeks after your body settles down, sometimes injuries can show up awhile later after your body has an impact or you could have long term minor problems and could be associated with the accident at least you would have it on file for insurance and medical stuff, here in NZ we have the government Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) which covers you in work or sport accident and injury which is great but you really have to give as much detail and be honest because they can cut you off in a heart beat, I know in the US your health systems vary from state to state whether public or private, oh and yer we always gota make sure the bike parts are OK, rest easy

Thanks man! I actually have a regular check up with my doctor this week and I'll talk to her about it then. 👍

Noooo! Not the Tacoma! I love those trucks. Glad you're alright. Getting away with no injuries is wonderful.
Yep, bummed about the truck for sure. I do still have this one though.

buying the crashed one back sounds like a wise re-investment.
On that note, do not accept the first offer from the insurance company. Ever! They will lowball you but at the same time, they are motivated to settle and get you off their books. We had a Roadmaster Wagon get totaled and they offered a very low settlement. I refused and did my own research for comps around our region of the country (this is easy to do with access to the internet!) and presented them with the current real value with actual references of real cars for sale. It was a fight, but in the end, they settled for several thousand dollars more than they first said they could pay. I also got some average scrap prices and bought back the car for a good price.

I’ll do some homework. These Toyotas have pretty high resale right now.

I'm glad the Big Guy gave you a pass. I hope you have no problems show up later. I have an old L3&L4 injury to my spine from1971. As a teenager driving too fast. Who has ever done that? Be Well, Short Stuff.

Glad yer OK! And the bike parts look reasonably unscathed? Fenders I noted later.

FWIW Here is Qld it's a $1200 instant fine and big demerits for just touching a phone while driving - and we have numerous AI cameras deployed to detect it.

As a (mostly) motorcyclist - I'm ALL for it.

Seatbelts are compulsory too.
