I like that idea. In fact, I just grabbed another skirt and chain guard set from the bay. Not the easiest thing to acquire, though I have picked up two sets in a few months. Seller took my offer which was pretty fair. The chain guard is almost worn through from the crank, but I have another chain guard. And I picked up a nice 24ā Murray, that gave up some similar handlebars to the Thunderbolt, along with a Shimano 333 with the coaster brake. A $20 find. Iām on my way to pick up an Electra 3 speed that will give up its fenders, chain guard, wheel set and gear. With the 3 bikes to build one, I am at $100 to build. The skirts would add little more to that total. A his and hers would be cool. I wanted to make this one to try and sell later, but this new idea may change my mind.dude, step through version of your Thunderbolt build off winner would be killer!!!

Pondo, I love the light blue on yours. Mine won't take long...just cosmetic, mostly, with new high bars and a bit of a chopper look. Here is a pick of the Cranbrook I did earlier this year, bc I was too excited to wait for the build off lol. This one makes me want to break out my Cranbrook. But I need my step thru build to be quick-ish and the Cranbrook plans are too extensive. My MBBO entry is going to take some time and I have a lot of other irons in the fire at the moment. This will be a fun build!

They do look great with high bars.Pondo, I love the light blue on yours. Mine won't take long...just cosmetic, mostly, with new high bars and a bit of a chopper look. Here is a pick of the Cranbrook I did earlier this year, bc I was too excited to wait for the build off lol.
I had this same Cranbrook that was my 2021 mbbo entry. It was my wifeās and didnāt ride it so it got played with. It was a skinny wheel build since I didnāt have time to lace a rim. Since then it has been chopped up and used for other builds. This one makes me want to break out my Cranbrook. But I need my step thru build to be quick-ish and the Cranbrook plans are too extensive. Sweet build! It met the 2 out of 3 rule so technically could have been a muscle build. The Cranbrook is a great platform to start a custom build. Decent lines and can be had cheap. Mine was $10 but Iām sure they can be had for less.I had this same Cranbrook that was my 2021 mbbo entry. It was my wifeās and didnāt ride it so it got played with. I tend to build more of a pig bike than a muscle bike. I just havenāt brought myself to go with the smaller wheel up front. And I feel to big and a bit corny on a real muscle bike, so I like a 26ā version.Sweet build! It met the 2 out of 3 rule so technically could have been a muscle build. So you should build a 26" muscle bike...I tend to build more of a pig bike than a muscle bike. I just havenāt brought myself to go with the smaller wheel up front. And I feel to big and a bit corny on a real muscle bike, so I like a 26ā version.
As kids we called them power grip bars. You want the bar ends that bend back and down. No butter fly, no straight back. Power grip, good for wheelies!I am not a muscle guy at the core. I have tried this seat and bar combo on several bikes. It ain't for everyone, that's for sure
Here is one I built for a build off a couple of years ago. Pretty similar! So you should build a 26" muscle bike...

Seat and bars, 2 out of 3, tires are the same size.
Hellion was a great build. You wouldn't go too far wrong to do your build in this style either. Here is one I built for a build off a couple of years ago. Pretty similar!View attachment 278517
