I didn't have time to do this build last year, so I'll take another swing at it. I am doing a gut and clean of a 1971 Rollfast 'Skoot'. I am trying to get it together to sell this weekend. If that goes according to plan, then I may try and put a step-through together for the other build off.

This is how I left it...

And here it is now...

I just finished greasing the BB and puting the crank assembly together. Hoping to have it together today or tomorrow. My custom work is mainly aesthetic, using accessories. This will definitely not be as intricate as 'WINONA RIDER'.

That's a good looking frame. I like the double top tube and wishbones. Nice stuff
Thanks @MattiThundrrr
Def a favorite of mine. I did a 26" years ago, and painted the lower bar a differt color. Looks like a racing stripe from above.

So I have a 20" Bendix 76 ready to rock, however it's that 1 3/4 rim size.

I have a compatible tire, but I want to use the zoetrope slick I made last year (which won't fit). I have a compatible rim with a Bendix 76 hub, but it doesn't have guts. So now I gotta do an organ transplant.

Awesome bike! You're cruising right through this project. At this rate I don't think you'll have any problems meeting your deadline or selling it this weekend. Thankfully I don't live closer because I don't really need another bike at the moment... Like that's really a thing.

Made good headway yesterday. Cleaned all the hub parts.

Started putting things together and realized I forgot a part riiiight after I put the retainer ring back on 😫

So I wrestled it apart, and then back together. *whew* Back in action.

Chain on, and ready for a test ride!

Pretty good ride. I had to tighten up a couple things, but overall I'm happy with it. If I recall, most 20/16 setups had a springer fork? If you sit on a bike with a springer fork, the compression extends your wheelbase a touch. This setup doesn't handle badly, but would improve a bit with a springer or a 20" front. I have to see whether or not I want to swap the wheel.

I got the grips, chainguard and fender back on. I will probably need to add a couple links to the chain, though, to center the slick in the fender.

Alright, adding 2 links made the chain too slack, so I had to rumage around and find an 18t rear cog to swap out for the 19 that was on there. That about dials it in as good as it'll get.

I'm going to leave the 16" front, get a kickstand on it, then go get some pics!
