Did you decided to stick with the paint that's on the frame? I'd be tempted to go with an all black tire with vintage tread pattern on this build, though the red walls might look pretty good too. I don't think you can go wrong with any of those stems but I think I would go with polished aluminum to compliment the forks. That vintage Pro Neck would be sweet!

stem bought! :D

Item description from the seller
Here is a Vintage 70s 80s Double Clamp BMX Stem… Similar to Mongoose ones but may be a Huffy one… I’m not sure what brand it is… Still has the cap so it may be NOS with shop storage wear or a OG takeoff years ago… Wish I knew more about it, but I don’t…

for now I sanded the lose armature re spray paint down. so it would lay flatter then scrubbed it with SOS pads to get off dirt and grim. then hit the hole frame with flat clear rattle can paint. to protect bare meatal and slow down the rusting. later I may decide to strip and paint it. but for now Pig Pen stays crusty and rusty.

Awesome stem! I wouldn't touch it, run it as is. 👍

pieced together headset is on :D it's a mix of vintage 1934/ 1970's Schwinn and 80's BMX. funky looking but works. plus with the extra 2 lock nuts and 2 lock washers should stay supper tight and I don't need to cut steer tube of SE fork down. may also be a benefit to the slant stem. IE adding back some handlebar height lost do to slant stem. ;) any who progress pictures. :)

Tough choice. Ourys are also super comfortable with the perfect amount of cush, a performance MTB grip. The vintage ones probably won't feel as good, but have the hard to beat "cool" factor. I'd choose the Ourys
