Western Flyer Freedom II 86/87
Here is a bike I just finished. Had a tight budget of $250 for this one.
new tires, tubes, cables, grips, pedals, brake pads. Replaced the front reflector. All white parts received new powder coat from Cains Coating (832-527-1607...... Kevin Cain does great work, take a look at the brake calipers. He gets the black MX on top of the white. And he is bike guy first powder coated second). Reworked all the mechanics, did a 2 day bleach on the wheels. Green paint is Original and in good shape. This bike has what you would call the economy package. There was another that came with the rotor headset and the GT style cheese grater chain ring. Bike now rides again and heading to Granite City, IL where it will be ridden by OG owners 8 year old son. Last pic before shot.

Those stunt pieces are bringing me back to sweltering parking lots of the eighties. I love the little platform behind the headtube the rear platform pegs, and the double cross bars on the handle. Makes me want a freestyle bike to play around on

Great job this bike reminds me of the bike i bought when I got my first job from the western auto. Bought it around the same time as this bike but if remember right it had straight twin top tubes.

nice bike I dig it.

I just came across the Freedom 2 green and white childs balance bike about 20 minutes ago at a friend's place. I didn't have my phone on me but I'll post a picture tomorrow afternoon, I'm buying it and a 50's 24" boys bike. Not sure what it is. No head badge or chain gard. But the price was right for the lake.

Just got it home. Now I need to see if I can find a picture of a complete one and start looking for I'm assuming training wheels and a convertible too bar and new decals. It's been sitting in their garden as used art for 5-6 years and the decal on one side is faded pretty bad.

Nice little bike. I don’t remember Western Auto selling a smaller version like that, but I like it. I’ve got a few green ones and a few magenta ones. Only 1 of my magenta ones is all original, the wheels on those didn’t last evidently. They had the directional mags where the green model had the straight spoke mags. So one magenta one I loaded with nicer parts and one is mostly original with a few random parts to finish it that I had laying around, like the GT mags (pardon that one, I’m working on the brakes and cleaning the chain at the moment). One green one was not complete so I put a bunch of nicer parts on it.
