    The Expresso machine

Shelby Shockease and CWC Shockmaster equipped bikes don't seem to pogo...but there is no rebound or damper involved. On the Western Flyer X-53 dual spring springer, one spring is for shock and the other is for rebound... but, I haven't ridden one... I'd assume they don't pogo.

    The Expresso machine

Seems like you would just need adjustable rod ends and a snubber to limit rocker rotation. Then you could pre-load the torsion bars for each application. Problem being, the more pre-load, the harsher the ride quality...like torsion bar equipped mopars. The only way to adjust spring rate is by...

    Monochrome Motocross

I didn't even know what muscle bikes were until I was in my 30s...but, almost all my bikes from the age of 5/6 on up to around 12/13, when I discovered cars and motorcycles, were 'curved frame' BMX. I can only guess that by '74/'75 muscle bikes were passé...and I never saw a Schwinn shop as a...

    Raleigh BMX

From BMXMUSEUM... "During the 1970s, Raleigh of Nottingham sold Huffy the US rights to the Raleigh brand. The Rampar name comes from the acronym; RAleigh AMerica PARts and was originally used as the brand name for all parts distributed by Raleigh U.S.A." 🤷‍♂️

    Outskirtscustoms finds

Good things come to those who wait? Got my fingers crossed for you. I spent three months trying to make a deal with a San Fran guy over CL before I threw in the towel. About three months after that he contacted me out of the blue and accepted my 'final offer'. Done deal...long and...

    Monochrome Motocross

There are a lot of old school Raleigh and Rampar fans out there. I wouldn't doubt that cleaned up the frame/fork would go for $150+ on BMXMuseum.

    Anybody else have a motorcycle?

I was going to throw in a 20k bid so I could be at the top of the conversation list, but was getting ready for work and it slipped my mind. Hopefully it will be relisted.

What have you been riding lately?

When we first saw him (the first couple pics) he was huffing and grunting...he was annoyed. There were a lot of stupid people doing a lot of stupid things to get their 'shot'. When he was bedded down, he was chill. He had went up hill with his buds, and no matter how much the idiots wanted...

What have you been riding lately?

On Saturday, we did a Baker's Tank (Boreas Pass) to Breckenridge (CO) ride. Started in the snow...went through the mud...and finished in the balmy low 60°s. Baker's Tank at left (~10,800ft elev)... Youngest daughter... Submarine? Four legged friends, weird combo of two males, a female and...

New automatic Schwinn serial number lookup tool

DU should be April '83…but, that serial format was supposedly changed in '82. 🤷‍♂️

My 1980's Beach Cruiser... ID Help Needed

I think it's a Boss Cruiser clone. Dropouts are wrong, BB to chain stay transition not right, welds not great, fork looks cheaper version (pull the fork...I believe the jamis Boss would be stamped akisa h.t.).

    Are you in?

The Red Shelby should be a '47… I believe.

    Are you in?

As @Wildcat said, this is an AMF era frame...derived from the CWC design. Compare the rear triangle and belly from the black frame with the gray Shelby.... ...and you can see it is a slightly earlier (probably AMF era) frame with CWC DNA. Both postwar.
