    MBBO BAD INFLUENCE!

I decided to try doing a little wet sanding today. It has a gloss to it but pretty low on the fender and chain guard. First thing I did was drop the ‘expletive’ fender. Chipped the front and rear. Fantastic. That was a lot of work to just chuck it on the ground right before polishing...

STBO Fashionably Late. (Temp. Name for now).

I'll be interested to see how that paint turns out. It's one of the options I was considering for my muscle build.

That's going to be a cool klunk for sure. I saw your other thread, Wildcat is really good at identifying these old frame and several others as well. The only thing I can tell is it's post war, so maybe 50s? It does have great patina and will be a fun project!

    Western Flyer X-53 resurrection

The logo you did came out great, patina matched and all. I don't think anyone will notice that it's not original unless you point it out. The forks and fender are looking great too. Nice work!

    "Too big a bearings!"

Ah, the memories. I never tried to jump that far but I do remember hitting a plywood ramp and having the front wheel fall off once. Preventive maintenance? Nah...

    Welding hoods

    I'll check them out, thanks!

    Welding hoods

I'm having trouble finding a decent auto darkening welding hood. I've tried one from Harbor Freight, not very good; Eastwood, much better but doesn't seem to work anymore; and this Arc Captain cheapo which doesn't seem to dim very quickly despite the claims...

    MBBO BAD INFLUENCE!

Yeah, it looks great in the light! The only thing is the guard and fender dulled out after drying. I'm pretty sure it's because I used brake cleaner to spray out the insides like I saw someone do on youtube. It reacted with the primer. I redid the primer but didn't strip them to bare metal...

You nailed it on this one, it looks fantastic! I love the lace paint, the stance is killer. Very nicely turned out!

    MBBO Won’t finish: Savage B.O.B.

Thanks for pointing that out and showing the solution. You had mentioned it before but I had already forgotten. It's all those paint fumes I guess. 🤣

    MBBO BAD INFLUENCE!

The final tally is 3 coats of Metal Specks red, 2 coats of Metalcast red and one coat of VHT high gloss clear engine enamel. The Metal Specks doesn’t spray out too well, which is understandable due to the metal flake in it. The Metalcast is amazing, sprays great, looks fantastic. Hopefully the...

The VHT clear isn’t reacting poorly so we’re going in. Set up in my Uber-Pro Inc. outdoor paint booth. PPE And first coat is looking presentable

    ** The next build off 2024 **

All great ideas! I'd like to do a cargo bike so that could fit in there somewhere.
