    Bought 3 bikes today.....

These bikes look like someone did a nice job getting older bikes up and running again. Forks are designed to bend before the frame does so It isn't odd to see replacement forks on an older frame. These look like very serviceable, rideable bicycles. I think the restorer had a thing about fork...

Your bike ended up being outstanding. Good Job. I love the paint scheme especially the tank. There are so many great parts, the shifter, the siren, the rear brake setup, the prop. Great bike. I missed this thread the first time around so I'm late to the party. Party on.

Rat Rods Forum is a special place where we try to build dreams into reality no matter how it may seem to others. And the others on this site are going to reward good honest effort with positive feedback. Facebook is not my sort of place. I don't use it. Same with twitter. Good luck with your...

    These are very cool.

    Jude's finds

Looks like it might have had a gas motor installed at some point. The handlebar stem appears to be a better than Wald quality stem. Schwinn made stems like that but other brands may have had them also.. Forged fork which I always like. This looks like a good place to start a project.

I've owned a couple of very early 1950's Plymouth cars. A station wagon with the overdrive and a business coupe. Both had the flathead 6 cylinder engine which was a pleasure to own. Very smooth running engine. The clutch and transmissions were excellent. The only issue I really had with...

    Guitar Players: Show us yours!

Guitar Carl I built the octave mandolin in 2008 It has a carved top and back. I build my mandolin and octave mandolin necks with very wide string spacing. I have meatball fingers and they will always touch the strings next to the one your picking on regular store bought guitars and mando's...

Post your 26 bmx cruisers here...

I like yellow and yellow like paint jobs with red highlights here and there. It really helps that this is not your usual cruiser frame and yet is a cruiser. Good job on this one.

Rot Oma (Omafiets / Granny bicycle) Salvage

See how easy that turned out to be. Looks like the pedals might be usable if you can get them out. Your brown rim wheels look terrific. I've used the newer 90mm front brake Sturmey hub and the brake was really good. Very powerful and progressive. I tried a 2 speed Sturmey hub for a couple...

    Guitar Players: Show us yours!

Though I play guitar I have yet to build one. The mando on the left has a pawlonia (Empress wood) top and is very loud and spanky. I made it for a woman and she wanted the neck even narrower than the usual Gibson neck. So I kept whittling off wood and showing her and she kept wanting less...

What a cool stealth stereo system. I am of an age where I still own a turntable that hasn't seen a record in decades, a nice quality tuner amplifier system and I rarely use them. Now I'm thinking about your system and how I could furniturize my system.

Show Us Your Art! (and other art talk)

A bunch of us on this site have or still play music for fun and money at times. I always had a 9 to 5 and did music on the side. Music is probably one of the shortest lived arts when it comes to performance. I suffered several lay-offs and companies going out of business and have had a bunch...

    Grunt

Interesting round about way to get a Breezer 1 out of your fat tired bike. I would need this modification just to be able to ride the bike because of height over abundance.

    Kasual Klunker

I really like your klunker. Lovely old school original pain job, really nice sprung fork, aluminum rims all add up to a usable klunker. Good job.

    El Niñer

Very nicely done. You have all the elements that were present in the first klunkers minus the 29er wheels. At first I thought you were using the Shimano roller brakes. I bought a pair one time and they were not good. You actually have to grease the braking surfaces just like a coaster brake...

The Schwinn Varsity and Continental thread.

I love stickers of all types and I see your rear wheel has an abundance of colorful stickers. I always worry about Chicago Schwinn step through frames. I've seen quite a few bent seatpost tubes on Schwinns and other brands from the good old days. This should be a sweet riding bike.

    "Chop Suey"

I built a klunker off road racing bike to race in the Northern California klunker and then mtb racing scene in 1979. I installed a Softride suspension stem. The stem worked really well on taming the slamming and chatter but the pivots were not machined to a high tolerance and the handlebar...

    💸Captain Awesomes Fresh Finds/General Ramblings

What an insanely cool bicycle. What a mind warp to see this happening right before your eyes. I'm sure this would be a great crowd pleaser. I can't think of anything wrong with having a bike that you can raise at will to see traffic conditions ahead of the crowd. Lower it down to make it...

    The history of the bicycle

Hi, my name is Tallbikeman and I'm a bikeaholic. I ride, repair and modify bicycles to fit my twisted version of bicycling. That said I am pretty adamant about riding every day for at least 10 miles if not more. All my bicycles are 35 to 40+ years old and reflect the bikes of my youth. I...

    "Chop Suey"

Sorry I missed this question. I have thought about just what you are suggesting. As it is the stock fork does take out the sharp hits and the bigger hits are tamed way down. But a small amount of chatter does come through. However this is starting to get into the splitting hairs category and...
