Well bike is still at the painters...
Thinking I might rewrap this in Tweed again minus all the amplifier business. Bike is blue, rims are gold anodized, should match up nicely...
Touched up the white with a paint pen...
And renamed Son of Kaiju to Shrimp. I was cruising it around the hood last night watching fireworks. I just might hieroglyphic the whole frame with paint pen. That'd be cool eh?
I'm probably gonna create a license plate outta that Old School sticker.
The additional weathering on it is cool, drives home the sentiment and I have some steel sheeting.
Got some awesomeness in the mail today!
Chuy is the artist! Thank you so much my brother. I'm really digging the extra pieces... Ah "Sorry We're Old School" that's my vibe. How did you know?
Tore up my bathroom today for an almost remodel
and I need a couple things before it goes back together...
Worked Saturday at a Battle of the Bands outdoors 11-5pm whew! (hot)
Got my frame n' fenders to the painter Friday but he's dragging it out...
Waiting is the hardest part.
GC.
I don't remember exactly what happened when it did finally go down. I think I'd tuned the Ancient Strat down to C. In retrospect, the software that did the conversion wasn't setup for that. I'd never gave it a thought. I'd bet that was where the low rumble came from. So the gravity shed was old...
Got a good price but it was a bad picture.
I was under the impression they were that dark clay color.
I may try a coat of MinWax Gunstock to darken them up.
Looks like I'll be eating my own words. Since I'm cleaning up my boy's Schwinn Traveler in the traditional class now. I told my daughter I'd rebuild her college bike. Modern but crustified Schwinn girls bike. We knocked it down into a single speed coaster with some comfy bow handlebars and...
Very cool. Without measuring I'd say mmm headbadge size... Doesn't matter too much. So is it an actual decal or a vinyl sticker? Either one would work just wondering. Also what would that cost me mailed to Illinois 60915??? Shoot me a pm please and thank you.
The tires arrived today and so it starts.
The room is spinning but the bike is fine...
Is it too close to the 4th of July for a red white and blue build?
Tore down for the painter...
I was so careful but I still tore the old "ish" vinyl "headbadge" I will probably still use it unless I can find a new one but I've had no luck so far...
Joking but truthfully, at this point in my life I've got little interest in a step thru build if I can't flip it. Having built slash rebuilt 3 or 4 believe me it's a challenge in and of itself. I could actually sit one out too.
The only other place you'll see one of my bikes is at a Chicago Taildraggers ride...
Well, maybe not that first one... It's being rebuilt in the current build off.
Ya know there was still at least 10 more in the garage...
The 41 Elgin, Greaseslapper, Wasteland, a Whizzer frame, another Schwinn Traveler, Planet X, a Cannondale, my kids College bike, another tandem, a Schwinn 20" ... My CURRENT BUILD LOL....
