Ah, so has it deformed at the bottom of the wheel with the tire deflated?
If it does not come back into shape with a few careful rides around the block or, if it is cold there, a bit of warming with a hairdryer before the ride, it may be scrap.
I am very interested in learning how it is going to steer with such an angle at the front. It looked like it was vertical, but when I popped my magnetic level on it I could see it was a few degrees in the right direction. Since it has the plates welded on at the bottom, that gives it a few more...
Ah, I thought it was a ZZR era bike, I would not mind coming across one of those, but I rather suspect I am more likely to find a Ukraine down here near Zamość - well, I already have the rear wheel from one.
I seem to focus on the more modern Romets, I keep finding them from the 1990s and early...
Ha ha, I put it there before I lit the heater, as I needed room in the kitchen as I had decided it was time to sort out my paper and card that I use to light it.
Thanks!
I try to keep my supplies to a minimum, because that allows me to really look at what I have got and consider what I can and want to do with it.
I have definite plans for the slammed look, I am glad now that I rescued the frame from my other barn. I used to think the frame was too new...
Welcome, glad that you have found your way here :)
That is yet another Romet that I have never actually see, that humpback is the kind of thing you would notice on a farm bike here in Eastern Poland.
Is that a 3-piece crank and BB? I so rarely see anything that old.
Since this frame is unlikely to ever spend serious time on the road again I would like to see what it is capable of in different configurations. This is one possibility with a slightly larger front wheel or longer front fork - which is something I would like to play around with if I ever finally...
Well, when we were young, old things were generally in black and white, or brown and white, or had a kind of a buzz to the sound. That is all gone now, and unless we are talking about videos or tapes, then old is merely what is out of fashion.
I reckon that old things now are when they...
Yesterday was a warm day, possibly the last of the year, so I decided it was a good day to finish off sticking the foam layer on the seat.
I think I should have stuck down each end first, and then worried about the sides later, as it was difficult to get a smooth fit at each end. Still, it was...
What would you think about having a short rear fender mounting that attached somehow to the inside of the frame uprights instead of going down to the wheel plate thingy? Maybe by mounting it further forward on the fender so that the arms are vertical - maybe by using a strip inside the mudguard...
That bar, or another bar, or in another colour, might look cool if you were fitting instruments.
Sometimes I wonder if our decisions are based on what has already been accepted, meaning it can be difficult to know if our current choices are merely not good or simply too fresh. I kinda like the...
I brought the saddle indoors, as the glue was not going off. It might be because the glue is old, or just because the weather is very cold. Putting it next to our heater, once I fire it up, should resolve that, one way or the other.
I found that the glue I was using to fix the foam layer on was not going off, so I have brought the seat back indoors with all the insulation bound in place with string. I think you are right, and I should take the seat and cover back to the city with us, and do it indoors where it is warm so...
