Deformed Tire!

Ok, I went to pump this thing up a few weeks ago and this happened!

Is this a breakdown in the tire rubber or a tube issue?

Both are stock and have never been touched

Tire holds air fine.

Check for a fold in your tube if not it's probably the tire

I've had that exact thing happen. Never knew why. New tube didn't help mine.

I wouldn't worry about that little wobble section you pointed out. It's the remainder of the tire that is straight with no curves in it that has me worried! They'll do that, ya know.....

Is it possible the tire isn’t the right size for the rim? Maybe it’s just a defective tire. What brand/size is the tire? Is it new?

Layers of the casing have separated. I see this in nos white tires. They have a short shelf life. The tire is garbage. Get rid of it before it blows and causes a crash. Replace it before it blows and you won't have to get a new inner tube.

Tire not inline ;
Twist into place.
I can see that it's not Twisted in line. You'll know when your tire is in line on the wheel when the alignment line is not showing at any point. Hope that helped.

Thanks! It’s the stock tube and tire that’s been on the bike for about 15 years!

Ah, so has it deformed at the bottom of the wheel with the tire deflated?

If it does not come back into shape with a few careful rides around the block or, if it is cold there, a bit of warming with a hairdryer before the ride, it may be scrap.
