Yup. S&M Husky 4-speed bars.

Just finished this up. '79 Schwinn Spitfire. Started life as a 5 speed, now converted to single speed. Frame and rear hub are the only stock parts. The rest is all BMX goodies from various eras. The dealer sticker from Billy's Boat & Bike Corral cracks me up.

The big cruiser is a '79 MCS MagnaCruise. The Lagunas are very cool as well. One of my buds is doing one.

The DG won Best Old School bike at Guy Cooper's show last summer. It's one of my favorites.

Since that show is at a BMX event, we keep it BMX only.

Our show will always be the Saturday after Thanksgiving at the Expo Center in Tulsa. Entry to the races is FREE. It's always a good time. Here's a couple of pics from a show a few years back.

Gotta love those things. I bought this 2005 brand new and still own it. 235,000 miles and never wrecked. I put 200,000 miles on it in 4 years on the road and then relegated it to beater status. Biggest mechanical problem was it needed some wiring harness repair after mice ate the wires off...

I'm also using Finish Line Chill Zone a lot right now - it's a penetrating oil in an aerosol can that comes out SUPER COLD. As the metal contracts and expands, it breaks the rust bonds and lets the penetrant in. It works really well.

I have soaked motorcycle gas tanks in OA and not had paint damage. I've soaked chrome bike frames in OA and not had the decals affected.

I've got an Atom drum brake rear hub I'm rebuilding for a klunker project. Has anyone changed the shoes in one of these? The springs are SUPER strong. I broke the spring locator pins off of one shoe while trying to stretch the springs over them. There must be an easier way. HELP!

Thanks, but I think I have it handled. I've got some SE 26" silver alloy rims on order. They look the vintage part and don't have eyelets. If I need to enlarge the spoke holes slightly, it's NBD.

Thanks for the heads up. Much appreciated. I'll go with a non-eyelet rim and can rework if necessary.
