Well, they are wider so they look cooler :) Also in general smaller tires run higher pressure, so they would be faster since they transit more power but less comfortable. Wider tires tend to be softer and nicer for a cruiser bike. However the difference is not at all that significant.

Cleaning them up was always such a pain. I ended up changing mine for regular 36 spokes on a daily bike, and the other set I've powdercoated black. I've spent hours with chrome oxide polishing paste and a piece of rag to get around each of the spokes before cruises and shows.

Thanks for a kind comment! You are right, those SRAM brakes are actually drum brakes, identical to the older ones on inside, just external and with a cooler! No idea why they market them as roller brakes, since there are no actual rollers inside :) I actually have rather good experience with...

Depends on a model and a condition of a brake. You might have seen my build thread of an e-bike. The combination of front and rear roller is good enough to stop a fast and heavy e-bike. Though i am running the biggest cooling rotor model out there. In general there is a big performance gap...

Planetary hubs are the best! Can't go wrong with two or three speed hub ;)

You always have an option to run this hub with roller brakes to avoid the v-brake bosses problem ;)
