    A try with a motor

Really its gone through a lot of changes to get to here.

    A try with a motor

I have gone way beyond a simple build for him. I'm about done on this one. He really wanted a simple bike with a motor he could ride to work. I kinda blew it out of proportion. Got kinda carried away I guess.

I was going to paint the rack. Its stainless and he is planning on using it, so it would scratch up really bad. Guess it will stay natural.

Getting closer. Have some small things to button up, and splice the wires too. Maybe finish tomorrow. Added a little red to the ugly tank.

Thanks Sensor. I wouldn't have this even close to a bike I owned. He just wants something to hold gas. I may start begging a few of Chucks throwaways and see how bad I can tear them up. Would be fun to spend sometime on doing something. I can actually improve them some as to looks. Well that...

    A try with a motor

My brotherinlaw is not quite as good with tools. I needed to build this like it was for a newbie. I'm hoping I can think of any problem that might come up and fix it before it can cause him a problem. If it was mine, I would have the ability to redo whatever problem comes up. Him not so much. I...

    A try with a motor

I'm not sure what the vibration level is on these so I made a rubber mount for the bottom and also the gas tank. Just extra stuff , but will make me feel better. Thinking about tacking the bottom strap to the frame so it can't slid around. Just spitballing I have gone past just bolting stuff on...

    A try with a motor

This is probably the dumbest thing I have gotten mixed up with. Every time I think I have all the stuff to finish...I need more locktite...or something. I was doing good and all the breathing problems stopped for a day, but then came back. Oh well I have lots of adjustments to check even after...

    A try with a motor

Still having breathing problems, but getting a little done each day. Got the front brake hooked up. The chain cut and on with the tensioner. Made the rubber mounts for the tank. This silly thing has fought me every step of the way. Hope to get a little more done tomorrow, If I feel well enough.

Well most of today was spent changing the one bolt in the clutch. It wasn't even a hardened bolt. i see why they gave you another. Got the clutch bolted on with locktite and the motor mounted. Had to drill out the plate to get it to line up right with the rear sprocket. Measured that a bunch...

I did pickup a quart of oil and an inline fuel filter today. Should have picked up another can of black paint. Maybe tomorrow.

Looks like since they say to hold the starter rope to retighten then it must be the bolt that hold the centrifugal clutch on to the motor shaft. So that will be the one I change. I have stainless allen head cap screws and locktite. Should get on with it tomorrow.

    A try with a motor

Yeah the only thing holding me back is them saying one bolt needs to be changed. I tried calling for tech support and they said they were busy from the sale. So Maybe tomorrow. Its called a clutch retainer bolt. If I can't find out what the heck they are talking about I will just change out...

    A try with a motor

Took a piece of stainless and welded it to the rear rack. Should keep some water off. Still need to grind the welds and paint it. Not bad looking.

I was talking to Kram and I don't understand why a China lawnmower doesn't have all the bolts fall out but all their motorcycles do. Doesn't make much sense. I use a lock washer on everything. I have tons of all sizes.

Read on their website that since 2014 that they have the factory locktite all the bolts. So that sounds promising.

    A try with a motor

I have never been a big fan of fenders, but it made this one look better. I'm going to build a 4'' wide flat plate that will fit under the rack and work like a rear fender. After seeing what a fender does in a wreck, I'm not wanting to hurt my Brotherinlaw. Found a couple things in the...

    A try with a motor

He only lives 10 minutes from his work, and should work for him. I will clean it out good before I stick gas in it. Got the tab welded on the kickstand and the springs all cleaned up and painted on the seat. The main bike is pretty much done. Now to put the motor on it. Should be interesting. I...

    A try with a motor

If it was mine, I would have my fab friend build me a square long tank to sit on top of the top bar. I'm not real fond of the silly tank that came with it. I guess if I had a whizzer I might like it more.

    A try with a motor

Need to clean the seat springs, weld a tab where the kickstand won't swivel and then start on the motor install.
