    Best Place to Buy Tubing?

When I was building frames, I bought from a steel company in Houston. They would sell you a 21' piece of 1 1/2'' od for about $15 and cut it in half for free. If you practice you could get two frames out of 21'. I used 16 gauge unless I was eating my wheties and would use 12ga. It makes for a...

    STRETCH CRUISER ADVICE NEEDED!!!

Maybe a little help. I use to use 21" from the seat post clamp to the back of the BB. Then at least 10" from the front of the BB to the back of the front tire. 30 degrees on the rake. If your 5'9'' and use these dimensions you will have a good riding bike.

    PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION

Hi I'm Paul. 67. I started because my brother bought a forward pedal bike , and I wanted one too. I figured since I could weld and build most anything, I would build my own. I built 4 junkers and finally got the hang of designing them. Once I got better, I figured I could do a how to on my...

    Just Stopped By

Hi to everybody. I miss the fun of the post. Kota this place is nice and they do everything for you. Mow your yard. play with your plants and paint your house every 7 years. The lake is fun , with lots of fish, but you have to throw them back. Catch a bunch but basically just piss them off...

    Just Stopped By

Yeah Kota I saw that. My problem is I lost my ACed shop when I moved and this place has zero lot lines and won't let you build a shop in the back yard. If I had an ac in my garage , I might still be doing stuff. I have half a double car garage but its about 3000 degrees in there and not...

    Just Stopped By

Its funny we have a big lake in the middle of our neighborhood. It has a 10' wide concrete path all around it. Its a mile from start to finish. I kept 5 of the builds I couldn't part with, and when we ride the lake all the people say man you sure have big tires on your bikes. They always ask...

    Just Stopped By

Hey everybody. Just wanted to say hi to all the old members that might still remember me. I'm alive and doing well. The bad part is just clicking over 67 my desire to jump out in the garage and whip up a bike frame has gone. I had fun and sometimes when I'm really bored I look through all my old...

There isn't a lot of difference in a really nice ride, between it and the colson looptail. I would really have a hard time picking a favorite out of them.

    Tubing wall thickness

I'm with 808. A lot has to do with your welding skills. If you can tig then 18 ga would probably do fine. If you burn through a bunch while your welding then 16ga will be your friend.

Can anyone here build me a frame?

I built quite a few frames. 18 ga is pretty thin. 16ga will weld without any burn through and throw a stick of 12 in a roller bender and you will have a serious workout before you get a curve in it. Not sure what your planning on doing with a bike but you seem to need some serious steel in a...

    Frame Builders

Looks like that Kuston Kraft just paints frames. I kinda looked around his page and didn't see where he was frame building. Might be wrong though.

SHOW ME YOUR WORKSPACE / SHOP

Thanks Luke. Its a gated community and you can ride anything. Lots of golfcarts. Got 617 houses and we cruise almost every night. Still have lots of tools but for now just waiting to get better to play with them. Been here almost a year. Its a different lifestyle for sure.
