    Higgins find

Nice. Can't ever turn down a Higgins. COuld you post some more pictures of the fork, please? It's very interesting.

    help ID these ladies .

I think the first is a Shelby too, and my guess on the second is Westfield. I am very uncertain though, so hopefully someone can deny or verify.

    The Powerheavy, or the Homebrew

Thanks Steve! I appreciate that a lot.

    The Powerheavy, or the Homebrew

Yes sir. :D My rear stays are actually pretty wide (built it that way just in case I decide I want some REALLY fat tires later!) and the fork isn't too bad either. So the mod in the back will be somewhat moderate; the front is what will be more drastic. I'm looking forward to the challenge...

    The Powerheavy, or the Homebrew

I am becoming more and more partial to the idea of a rust finish on this one... Got my brake cables... super heavy duty. Need to get them hooked up. Also decided on using fenders, or at the very least I am going to try. I will have to mod them a little bit, but I want to run OCC ducktails...

    '51 JC Higgins Color Flow

Are you talking about the one you got from me? I do recall that hub was a wee bit funky  I take it that is a matching Jc Higgins Thermos? Absolutely beautiful bike, nice job Joe!

    Cool oddity from the 80's

Funky fresh! If for some strange reason you decided to cut it up, the looptail would be fun to incorporate into a cruiser frame...

    Another mystery bike

EDIT: That chain guard is most likely original. I just saw another Ross with the same guard, all O.G.

    Another mystery bike

That is a Ross / CBC (Chain Bike Corp.) frame and fork. I believe it could have been badged in several ways, but regardless of that it is definitely a Ross made bike. The sprocket looks original. I think the guard is an H.P. Snyder made part (thus, it could have originally come from a Firestone...

    MK Hannibal's Kilauea Kruiser

Nice job on that design; it's killer! I too am surprised at the lack of responses to this one... The rear end almost looks as if it were made of several old tubular forks; am I right or is that just how it looks? That would be a very painless and ingenious way of making the rear triangle.

    The Powerheavy, or the Homebrew

Thanks for all the positive comments! Got one brake hooked up today and am super happy with it. Stops very well, but not jerky. Super smooth. Need to order a moped brake cable for the rear. Thinking I'll paint this black once I get the brake cable and a few other small bits...

    The Powerheavy, or the Homebrew

Thanks, not sure what to do with the finish yet... I think I'm gonna paint it a nice glossy black, but that's the tentative plan.

    The Powerheavy, or the Homebrew

Wheels and tires... steel drum hubs front and back... Worksman rims... NOS KMC chain... and I just love me some Maxxis

    Autmn Epitaph Cruiser

I have to agree. I like it enough but I don't think the price is pretty outlandish. Also, I checked out the site and it doesn't even have any frame specs (material is what I was interested in); you're paying three grand and you don't even know that basic info? :| I like the comment about the...

    S-7 Help

Hmmm... I would doubt the frame is bent, just sounds to me that the smaller wheels&tires cause the frame (effectively, the bottom bracket) to be lower to the ground. A shorter crank arm might do the trick, but that does change the gearing/ride a little.

    J.C. Higgins Manifold Decal Tanker

I always liked those too. Monark made for sure, judging by dropouts, crank, upper rear stays...

    The Powerheavy, or the Homebrew

Thanks; that was somewhat of an accident but I'm glad it turned out to be such a smooth transition.

    The Powerheavy, or the Homebrew

I guess it's time to let the cat out of the bag on this one... The backstory: I was riding an old insutrial bike one day on a somewhat rough old paved road and the frame was squeaking and creaking like mad. That's not that big of a deal, but it was kind of annoying me. It inspired me to make an...

Colson Decoliner, Breathing fresh air into this stale build

Re: Colson Decoliner, Wheel progress! 7/16 What if you did a more minty, paler green on the rims and used your dark mossy green for the stripe color there? That might be kind of cool. The light green would look nice against the cream felt tires and would compliment the mossy green nicely too...

    FIRE ARROW

This is a bad little bike. I had the same bike in black and sold it to Hammond Eggz a while back... definitely unique! Gotta love those double in-tank lights...
