OK, so its not such a fresh find. I got this bell on trade a little while ago from RRB forums member, it was all rusty and stuff, and although I know most of you love the rust I do not! :lol: So after two days of soaking in white vinegar heres what it looks like. :D What appears to be rust...

In my years of buying/collecting I've run across many Schwinn Frankenbikes that people build and say are all orig, this one may be one of them. MAY BE!

That's called a guess, and that's all it will be till its proved correct by a seriall number check.

I don't know anyone that can look at what is basically a Schwinn frame and tell you for sure what model and year it is.

Thanks to a forum member at bikeforums.com I now have a set of canti brake adaptors for mounting front canti brakes on the Beast! The Tektro canti brakes come in tomorrow. :D

My Spyder did not have that "tube," but it shifts fine and I never "bang" the gears while shifting so I guess I'll be fine. :)

OK, I bought a generic black aluminium seat post in 28.6 and it fits better than the steel one that came with it. I figure parts are probably the cheapest parts they could build the Beast with so whatever Co. that makes the seat post does a piss poor job of making it, or maybe the guy that made...
