    Frame ID, Colson?

Chain ring is most often seen on Western Flyer badged cwc's. --Adam

    Jude's finds

If that's an 'M' starting the serial #, it's a '63, which was also the year they went to block lettering on the tanks & chain guards. -Adam

    Recycled Cycles California Beach Cruiser

And Recycled Cycles 'recycled' their badge design from Mead!

    Jude's finds

'62 is actually rather late use of the early style chain ring. Previously, I'd seen it in circa 1960 ads. It is similar to the old Shelby design, but theirs was skip tooth. -Adam

    Monark built JC Higgins?

See, this is why these ancient posts are still here, relevant 9 years later! I'll add to my original comment that Murray was building their new TN factory in '56, and gearing up for the new Flightliner bikes, no strike. And the '56 bikes w/3 pc cranks were imported by Stelber. -Adam

    Roadmaster

History: AMF bought out the Cleveland Welding Co. in the early '50s. They stayed about the same until they moved production to Little Rock, AR in 1957. The BB's were stamped with the year from '52 - '56, i.e. "52Cw". They also bought Shelby, those bikes quickly became mixed w/CWC-AMF parts after...

It's a start Fleet wing / huffy wheel

Murray built, I see a 'BMA/6' certification decal on the seat tube, dating it to '71-'79. -Adam

    Fleetwing questions.

Fleetwing was a dept. store brand, going back to the '40s, they sourced bikes from different co.'s. By the mid '60s, they were using mostly imports. They weren't affiliated with Sears, I think the ladies' bike above was customized. Murray's similar sounding model was Fleetline, JCH's was...

Anyone know what this bike is or was?

Stelbers were cheap import bikes, they later changed the name to Iverson, and those used mostly CBC/Ross parts and were higher quality. -Adam

    Help identify Bike Please

CBC/Ross didn't use 3 piece cranks, or have stepped frame joints like this. They did make some Coast to Coast bikes. The above bike is an import, made in similar style to the Ross version. -Adam

    Chrome Bike

Those were only made from 1961-63 with a chrome frame. It has the truss fork instead of the springer, so it's just below the top Flightliner. In '64, the new Spaceliner took over as top model, they were offered in chrome, the frame is a different style. -Adam

Like the title says "Bike I.D. ....."

MOS-P is 1950, 24"s aren't worth a whole lot to begin with. The chart above doesn't reflect Sears bikes, which have an S in the code. - Adam

    Schwinn Racer Wheel Options

S-7 wheels will fit snugly, without fenders and with a coaster brake. OG rims are S-5 or S-6. -Adam

    B.F. Goodrich Challenger Sabre

    Definitely Murray built, '60s - '70s.

    Schwinn Straight Bar Question?

I'm not a Guru on this, but I believe when the welded on kickstand showed up early postwar, the cheaper bikes kept the bolt on, and continued with the Tornado, Skipper, etc, into the eraly '60s. -Adam

    Sunbeam Age and Value

    Old Schwinn Twin tube?

There never was a strike, but Murray was building a new factory in '56, likely causing a shortage. ..Most of Sears' 3 speed lightweights after the later '50s were made by Puch, part of the european collective Steyr/Daimler/Puch. Puch's factory was in Austria, while the '56 JC Higgins bikes were...

    Predator project

Nice, I had the same thing, but with green/yellow decals. Of course, wasn't long before I took 'em off, following the reflectors & chain guard! -Adam
