    Rat Del Sol build

I guess I'm due for another update. Guess nobody liked the last one cuz no one replyed. If you have nothing nice to say, then don't say it at all, right? Well, I wasn't really digging it either. I still have to make some permanant "tank" plates to replace the cardboard ones on it now. I planned...

Thanks for the tip. I've been on The Cabe for a bit now as well. A lot of very knowledgeable & friendly members there. Cleaned up the front hub & regreased so far. Gonna need new bearings, but gonna run them till I pick some up.

Local CL find:Elgin Twin Bar 20

Well, he knew it was an Elgin Twin bar, but thought it might have been early 30's. This wasn't one of those $20 picker's dream stories, but I did pay a killer price for what it is. That being said after paying rent, bills & this unexpected purchase I have $150 in my bank account until next payday...

Local CL find:Elgin Twin Bar 20

Yeah, I couldn't believe it when he brought it down. It had been hanging up there for 10yrs. Honestly I never thought I'd even be able to afford one, both because they're way out of my price range & when one does go on the chopping block,it goes quick. As far as the crankset, it was just another...

Local CL find:Elgin Twin Bar 20

Hello fellow members. I came upon a very unexpected surprise during a late night skim of my local Craigslist. I found blurry, badly lit pics of an upside-down bike hanging from rafters. I enlarged the pic,and still wasn't quite sure what I was looking at. Not only due to the bad pics, but because...

    Help choosing a bike rack

I would, but that would conflict with my side business of running across the border. They call me "El Coyote" JK. Yeah, that trunk is freaking HUGE, but I have a sub box and all kinds of crap in there(usually random bike parts).

    Help choosing a bike rack

Actually, a hood mounted rack would be nice, so my bike looks like a big hood ornament. J/K. A trunk mounted rack is what I need for my '96 Grand Marquis. It's pushing 200k+ miles, so I kinda need something I can move onto another car when this one croaks.

    Help choosing a bike rack

I figure it's about time I need to pick up a bike rack if I wanna ride anywhere I can't ride my bike to. I need a heavy duty trunk mount rack that isn't hundreds of dollars. I would also like something that is able to carry an older girls tank bike securely without too much trouble. What have...

    Is this worth getting?

Not sure if this is the place to ask this, but here goes. A buddy of mine want's to pick up this newer Schwinn and I want the Nexus 7spd out of it. Is it worth the asking price of $275? Don't know much about the newer bikes...or bikes in general. Thanks for the help guys!

So Cal Cycle Swap Meet Sunday Sept 25th in Long Beach

Omw to the meet hungover, eyes bloodshot. Hoping to find something good. At least I'll be able to see some cool rides. Went to the Antique meet at Veterans a couple weeks ago. Asked about a ladies 30's-40's Roadmaster. Looked complete, slathered in red house paint. Nothing special, not a deluxe...

    Toolbox FULL of bike tools...

Maybe I should just use the search function or at least post in the How-To section, but since truing stands have been mentioned, how difficult is it to lace & true a wheel? Do I need a $200-300 one? Or will one of the $70-100 be ok? Or can I just rig up an old fork & a ball-ended dial-indicator...

    Toolbox FULL of bike tools...

We always help each other out here. I've worked on his Toyo Tacoma rock crawler several times and never charged him a dime. I will be sure to take care of lunch for a while too. Thanks for the info on these guys. They've already made working on these two-wheeled machines much easier 8)

    Toolbox FULL of bike tools...

Not really a find, but more of a gift. It's been slow here at the Ford dealer, so I've been bringing my bikes here to work to pass the time. A guy who works here mentioned that his stepdad who passed away used to be a bicycle mechanic off and on for several years. While cleaning out a shed out...

    Rat Del Sol build

Funny you should ask...as I do have an update. I'm still playing around with ideas, trying to get the "look" I'm envisioning in my head. It's been slow again here at the dealer, so I've had some extra time to tinker with it. I ordered a 27.2mm to 25.4mm(1") seat post shim & purchased some 1"...
