I got the last of the little parts clean and put the grips, seat, donor sissy bar, kickstand, and shifter on this morning. I need to think about the cable routing and put the chainguard on still but it's almost done. With the seat in the position it's in I'm touching the ground on my tip toes...
That's very Cool! From the "good old days" no doubt. When my plant expanded, they tore down a wall and the inside was stuffed full of empty beer cans from those Days! Sadly, those days ended right before I started there. The story of my life!
I'm doing clean up on small parts today. The brake calipers are aluminum and they cleaned up very well...

The bendix red band is my favorite to rebuild. It's so simple but works so well! Also, I love that maguires wax. I put a couple three coats on my bike today too!

I think you're absolutely right Crash. I'm gonna have to live with them for the build off then maybe get them chromed. I've been watching the ebay and that spoke protector is pretty rare!

I'm letting the paint on the frame "Sun cure". I don't know if that's really a thing but that's what I'm doing. I think tonight I'm going to run it down with polishing compound and a good wax...

Here's the frame. I think it needs wetsanded and another cost but it's not bad. The only thing I'm not sure is, send off the old decal, paint and add new decal?
Ok. I finally got a day off and have the blue one more try. I used rustoleum metalic blue and so far it Looks great! Here's a teaser pic but hopefully I'll get more up tomorrow...
