New deal. I don't feel like shipping it and I wanted the handlebars for something else. So you can get the whole bike, tank and all, minus the bars. $50 to anyone close enough to Mount Airy, NC to come pick it up.

Paint is good, inside is clean, decals look nice. Has the two small dents on the front sides from trusses. Has some paint rubbed off where the frame was and where battery can straps were touching, and some spots of rust. I have not tried cleaning or derusting in any way, so hopefully it can look...

Am I right in calling mine dogleg cranks? Maybe they are all over the place going by a different name.

I'm guessing they were originally on an old moped, like the old Puchs or Motobecanes. The ones from the 60's-70's that had frames just slightly more beefy than a bicycle. They were in a box of parts I got when I bought out a previous member here that was local to me.

Here they are. The chrome is actually decent on them but there is something gray on them. Not sure what it is but chrome polish seems to be taking it off

Searching moped cranks on ebay turned up a couple of slick options. But it will depend on the crank diameter, and it seems they are all for 9/16" pedal shafts

I have dogleg cranks on my highwheeler to keep my feet away from the spokes. It had straight raleigh cranks when I got it. I had the dogleg set in a box so I threw them on. I have a feeling they came from a very old moped. Either way, they exist, but I'm not aware of any being produced now...

Thanks. The more I work on it, the more I dig it. That wheel hop is annoying me though. Adjusting spokes doesn't help. It's true side to side. Just popping up slightly in a spot.

Still some detailing to do, but here is an update. The rear wheel still has a bit of a hop. Not sure how to go about fixing that. I might mark it where it hops, take the tire off, and tap the rim with a rubber mallet. Any ideas?
