    Murray Classic Cruiser???

Last of the American Murray bikes from 1998 when they started doing retro bikes with things like springer forks and bringing back the Mercury & JC Higgins names. The red clear coat they used over silver has faded on it. I had the Valiant with the springer fork but I sold it for $50 even though...

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories What is NIB? Did you read about that brand new Gun Safe someone got with drugs in it. If I can remember right those safes were packaged by inmates in Mexico.

    Craigslist nightmares and dreams...

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories $100. I found 3 of those at Goodwill for $30 each that I was thinking of getting for the forks but I didn't know if they would work on any bicycles like my 68 Stingray. Or even thought they were worth paying that much just for those forks.

    What do I have?

Huffy by the sprockets design. Oldroads sites Huffy date check which is all I know for them. The last digit of the year of manufacture can be determined by the first digit of the serial number. Then you have to look for other characteristics to determine the decade of manufacture. Example...

Bought a western flyer and need help

They had MO since they began all the way through the last year I believe. Which I found out the serial numbers for the late 70's to the 90's are not known to be able to date them unlike the early 70's & older. Most Murray's starting in the late 70's to late 80's had put on black with white...

Bought a western flyer and need help

You don't need to take the pedals off to see the numbers because they should be stamped on the outer metal piece of the shaft between the rubber blocks because Wald started adding the years on them at the time. I could have said it better than what I did but I never got to learning the names...

open road distributed by Montgomery Ward

I believe it's a Huffy by the looks of how the kickstand is on it from the 70's & 80's. If they are determined the same way as normal Huffy's from Oldroads. The last digit of the year of manufacture can be determined by the first digit of the serial number. Then you have to look for other...

Bought a western flyer and need help

Late 70's - Early 80's by the look of it but too bad it doesn't look like it still has the sticker above the bottom bracket anymore which would have had the date. Any numbers on the stem above the insert line or the pedals axle shaft?

    love the Sting Ray, but...

The Stingray is alright but Huffy & Murray's muscle bikes had multiple better styles to their frames. But even though Schwinn came up with the frame style Huffy came out with the Penguin before Schwinn had the Stingray. although kids originally came up with those kind of bikes first then the...

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories Free but as always too bad it's too far from me. They are more useful for me than the parts I actually have except for the 3 piece cranks since I only have 1 piece crank bikes. They also say that he would have wheels later in the week...
