    Fastbaxi

1974 Schwinn Fastback Free frame was wiped with butcher block oil, removed rust from the lucky 7. Tiny pedals and crank, leftover parts...added pegs that look mufflerish and a Duro City Cavalier which looked so good with the chrome rim that it nixed my original plan of black rims and white...

POISON APPLE: '79 Schwinn Fair Lady Trike

I love those renderings and graphics. You’ve got a great vision for what you want. I say heck with the deadline & build the trike you want no matter how long it takes. I feel like I rushed my own builds and I know I’ll see every corner I cut until perpetuity!

    Unofficial March Shootout 3

I’m in. VW hippie bike. This bike’s boss said think hippie VW bus. Rack for the front with 2 headlights and maybe a buss front motif, all black wheels with white walls, brown cross stitch saddle, rear folding rack with bug hubcaps and fender cutouts, rainbow glowing tie dye black light kandy...

    Sundown

Best part is that it rides out well...I did a couple hops & stops...nimble and waaaay lighter.

    Sundown

Thanks! I like that these forks maintain the same width and don’t taper. The other more BMX options I had were cheap and looked too cheesy. This was a super fast build. Barely had time to get the pics. Yes, I’ve fixed the tire since then...and a crate did get added. I wanted to get as BMX a look...

    Sundown

Sundown, a 1969 Stingray Fairlady. Four part translucent rattle can fade blending from factory finish to new blue, to purple to black over a silver base. Rebuilt hubs and duro diamond whitewalls. Started with this heap...

    Apple Cider Special

I lied, one last pic. Fiat lux! Dirt cheap 9v battery box stuffed inside handlebar foam, which is tucked into the seat. Total cost including taillights was about $20. With that final detail completed I’m officially calling this build done!

    Maybe Something!

Got those nu high tech tubeless wheels goin on...and showing off the finest tires! Close...rebuilding the hubs waiting on tires & crank.

    Maybe Something!

Boss was right on that! The teal rims will be wrapped in knobby white walls. They will set everything off, tie in the white handlebars and make the bike look cool & capable.

    Maybe Something!

Right? I don’t usually go for miss matches but I really liked this look too...I felt it went with the theme...the boss felt the purple part of the fade was overwhelmed by the all black wheel...tried the teal back there and everything jelled. I may have to revisit a front to back fade look...

    Maybe Something!

Going black tires with teal rims & chrome spokes. The all black detracts from the paint fade. I have a crate that matches the rims too.

    Maybe Something!

Weather is behaving so I got the grungy rear triangle of the fair lady sanded & painted. The bike is called “Sundown” & the idea was to blend old & new paint...I may touch up the lower tube & headtube some more & leave the *Schwinn* logo...or paint the whole dang thing we’ll see. Silver on the...

    Apple Cider Special

No new pics till the finished thread. Scouting picture spots. Between the center section and the ends, I’ve cut out an entire foot of width from my handlebars. It has made the bike so much easier to control. Not only that but I have the added bonus of two free guitar slides! I got the guts of...

    Apple Cider Special

So close...just a couple details left. I used tail light black out paint on the headlight bucket and shift knob and it is some of the best gloss black finish as I’ve ever seen out of a can. I bent the headlight bracket forward for a hunched look. Once the mirrors are on I’ll know how much to...

This has been on constant repeat since I found out about it a week ago. Glorious. Heavy Can influence.

    Apple Cider Special

Dialed back the insane and went for a cleaner look. Too squirrelly with the tall bar. Chrome bullet tail lights and teardrop mirrors on the way. Although I can‘t stand cables in general, I’m looking at adding stingray rear brakes. I can’t tell how they attach to the fender support. Is there a...

    Apple Cider Special

I’m not going with a rack, I think that pivot point might make a great spot for tail lights or reflectors. The rack idea was more of “what else can I use these pivot points for?” The general idea was a chrome bar vintage style rack that folds down, then could stay up with a couple rods attached...
