I guess if it were me, I'd fabricate a subframe similar in concept to the Xtra-Cycle design, and have that bolt onto the dropouts and chainstay (or seatstay) bridge. You can always clamp braces to the seatstays themselves if you need reinforcement.

No. The bike is powder coated, but the fenders are plastic. Since obviously they can't be powder coated, I had to find a paint that was a decent match. I used Rustoleum from Home Depot, the color is called Oregano. It isn't as close of a match as the pictures suggest, its a slightly browner...

Surly calls it Canvas Green. Its a powder coat, cuz that's how they do things, but I think that they'd share the color code if you asked nicely. :cool:

No, they're fat bike fenders, they're a molded black ABS plastic. The company that makes them is called Big-O Mfg. They have a pebble-grain finish normally; I sanded them rather extensively to smooth them out before painting them.
