I added one spacer and that did the trick. Absolutely no play at all now. Took the bike out for a spin this Morning and within the first twenty feet of the ride I had a smile from ear to ear. This bike is so fun to ride with the new handlebars and fork.

The stem is flush with the top of the steer tube.

I used a 7/16 long socket like he did in the video set down to 15mm. I tightened this up first, snug, then the two bolts on the stem. Easy peasy! I've got just a hair of play if I push forward on the bars. Is this normal?

This is what happens when you ride your bike all day everyday instead of sitting in front of a computer playing video games.

I put a new fork, stem, and bars on my Klunker. The stem came with this little doodad. It's all metal. What is the best way to install this so I don't ruin it? Thanks.

I wouldn't feel confident using the 2K clear. I'll be painting outside under a 10x10 portable canopy. I'll not be using any decals at all. The color I'm using is Lime Green. Is it necessary to use a clear coat?

Thank you for the warning. Although I'm not a noob to rattle cans, this will be my 1st paint job on a bike.

Duplicolor does have a clear called 1K. The bike is yellow but will be stripped down to bare metal, primer, and paint. No graphics. I'm guessing that not having a clear coat would make it easier to touch up the paint if need be.
