    Mid-80s Hevi-Duty value question.

Thanks guys. Much appreciated! My family asked what I want for my birthday coming up, and I said "welllll, it's funny you asked that." So a headset, stem, forks and a can of spray paint from Spray.bike will be ordered here in the next day or two.

So using a 1 1/8" threadless fork would be no problem?

    Mid-80s Hevi-Duty value question.

After @Dr. Tankenstein was kind enough to look up a headset and fork for me, I need to know if my Heavy Duti has a 1" or 1 1/8 steerer. The first pic is the Heavy Duti stem. Second pic is a 21.1 quill stem.

I want to confirm that my headset is indeed 1 1/8. What do I measure with calipers?

Where did you get the headset and bottom bracket? I have the same frame. I'm new to all of this. Thanks.

There is some play in the headset, so I figured I would upgrade. Is this the right headset I would need? https://porkchopbmx.com/alloy-old-school-bmx-bicycle-headset-1-threaded-w-32-5mm-cups-black/

I dig his bike. Thanks for the pic. I really like the handlebars with the 45° backsweep. When I rode my new to me Schwinn this past weekend with cruiser type bars with a similar backsweep I got absolutely no numbness or tingling in my hands. I believe the backsweep is the ticket.

    Mid-80s Hevi-Duty value question.

I took the bike out for a 5 mile spin this morning. What a nice bike.Very comfortable and smooth. This bike rides and pedals better and smoother than my SE OM Flyer, go figure. I just rode it as you see it here in this picture. I will be I will be changing out the stem and handle bars today as...

    Tire size Q

I recently put 26 x 2.2 Maxxis Holy Roller's on my daily rider. I do the same type of riding as you. Great all around tire, And pretty quiet on pavement. It's a fast rolling tire. So far I really like it.

    Mid-80s Hevi-Duty value question.

Get the bike back home and notice a wobble in the rear wheel. Wait.......what? Off to the bike shop. Bother that old bike mechanic. He's a moody old dude. You would think he would have seen that. I should've checked before I left.

    Mid-80s Hevi-Duty value question.

My LBS had a single wall wheel complete for $85 so I grabbed it. If I bend the snot out of the rim, I'll just buy a double wall rim and lace it up. 95% of my riding will be pavement and hard packed canal road riding. I don't make it down to my local MTB trails that often. Maybe come November...

Are you guys using single or double wall rims on a klunker for light trail use? Is double wall even necessary?

Do you have any problems with your hands going numb with these bars? I have BMX bars on my bikes and have the same issue with my hands going numb.

A local guy is selling this bike locally for $100. Is it worth it?
