    Hawthorn straight Bar

Mid-50s HP Snyder frame--the tab is nothing factory I've ever seen. My guess is that somebody added a fork stop so that it didn't smash the tank at full tilt, like how so many tanks are beat up from a springer or truss rod fork. Schwinn actually had a factory frame bumper on their deluxe bikes...

Unknown maker frame please I.D. it.

It is indeed a postwar HP Snyder built frame circa late 40s early 50s. HP Snyder is best known for supplying frames to--dun dun--Rollfast! Also could have been Wards Hawthorne. The volcano joints at the bottom bracket are very indicative of Snyder as well as the overall geometry.

    Roadmaster Supreme

Well if it's just the frame you're interested in, there are probably 30 or so floating around  But as far as complete, original bug-eyes go...

    Roadmaster Supreme

The word rare gets thrown around a lot.. but this is rare.. I believe there are fewer than 10 known in the hobby. I believe the one you pictured is owned by JAF/co. The Roadmaster Supreme was made '37-38, and came in two variants of Y-frame--there's the bug-eye and the 4-gill tanks. There's a...

    Help with Mystery Frame

That would be a 1935 Schwinn. Collectors have dubbed this frame the "double diamond" because of the straight seat stays instead of the curved stays beginning in 1936. The arms in the fork would be for truss rods. These frames are often built up into cruisers again.

what kind of frame is this?

I believe this is a Ross. Most of their american-styled frames had a faux cantilever frame (likely when Schwinn held a patent on the canti through 1959), compared to this which is a real cantilever. They did produce frames like this a little bit later though, so I'd go with that.

    Winchester Bike

Having a true serial number like that, I'd guess it's most likely from 1940ish, since 1941 is when I believe they started the reversed year serials like I mentioned above. It looks like the whole drivetrain was likely swapped. You see this a lot on skiptooth bikes that Grandpa put into service...

    Winchester Bike

Essentially is a Rollfast. Built by HP Snyder late prewar or early postwar. Serial number will read something like EH-14. Flip those digits and you have the year.

    1947? Schwinn DX Excelsior

Is the tank an original? If this had the correct fenders painted at the same time, that would make all the difference. I think as it sits, it's a pretty on par trade for a 600$ value if the tank is original. Since it's not a 100% resto, that keeps the price ceiling down, but it's a great classic...

Why does everyome hate 24 inch bikes and love 26 inch bikes?

24" are proportionally sized for 8-12 year-olds, maxing out at about 5' tall. My interest in the hobby is to ride the suckers as much as it is to collect and refurbish. Therefore, a 24" bike has no value to me, as I will never comfortably ride it.

    JC Higgins CL Find

Nice! This is a very early postwar model--1946 likely. Still retains features of the former Elgin namesake, like the chainguard and the four-star details. Very cool that it has reverse paint fenders.

    Value?

Space-age bicycles are always popular and sell well. Fenders won't be a problem; they were all pretty interchangeable at this point. Everything else appears original and it also looks as though it has a Bendix automatic 2-speed out back which is 50-75$ any day of the week by itself. A perfect...

    What is it?

'38-42 Murray built frame. As bentwoody said, CWC ring, aftermarket rack and guard; fork could be postwar Roadmaster or JC Higgins. Truss rods look like Rollfast with the wrong mounting plate. Egg crate rack is cool and would bring a few $$.

    1930's? Elgin

1941 Monark. Bars/stem, seat, and maybe fenders don't look original.

    old Schwinn?

The dropouts look Monark to me. If it's a true cantilever, it'll be 1959 or later since Schwinn held a patent on canti frames until then.

    Whats your garage look like

Every time I see a shot of your garage, it gives me something to aspire towards. I just relocated my collection to this secluded area of the garage and plan to fill my bare wall as you have.

Really old heavy duty mystery wheel

That's a pretty desirable hub, being a Morrow/Eclipse 36-10. It may have a letter-number date code somewhere on it like J2, but this dating started in 1931. No date code could signify pre-31 and that stamping does appear to be earlier. It could have been an earlier motored application, but by...

Crusty Old Bike - CWC Origin?

The serial number puts it at 1950. The kickstand is a prewar aftermarket piece.
