    aluminati v. 2.0

Ouch! Glad you and the ride are for the most part unscathed. Reminds me of an image in the old rock shox suspension fork manuals about tire clearance and maximum sizing. Too large a tire would contact the fork crown on full compression as yours did, and they had a maximum tire diameter...

    Nothing Special, CWC Hiawatha

Just got a new tool for our business, a angle grinder stand, what is basically a mini chop saw... somehow I feel this may come in handy later on in this build... keep the rubber side down!

    Nothing Special, CWC Hiawatha

Okay, finally found time to get some stuff done on the Hiawatha. Giving it a bath in oven cleaner today and working on paint removal. It seems to have worked well, softening the paint and allowing me to get to bare metal, might have it all stripped by this afternoon, but you know how that...

    CWC "Gargoyle" Special

Stay with your custom fork and try to come up with a drop stand mount? I am on the same page when comes to customizing stuff, have to find that fine line where parts are valuable/usable or trashed/junk to make the decision whether or not to start hacking away. An OG Schwinn Cycletruck fork is...

    Prize Pool BUILD OFF 12

I was speaking to a friend in the bike industry out in Fruita the other weekend. He was telling me of a trophy for some event that gets bigger every year. The winner takes it home, adds to it, brings it back to the event the next year bigger and badder, and the next winner does the same... He...

AMF SUPER TROJAN BIKE Greased Lightning I'm done.

Thats a tough one. Dont think chrome would be the best look, and the mismatched reds stand out a little... glad I dont have to make that decision! keep the rubber side down!

    Westfield Wasteland

I have a set of seat clamp shims like that as well. Any time I come across seat mount guts for the smaller diameter posts I stash them, I am a hoarder of bike parts... is there anything wrong with that? keep the rubber side down!

    aluminati v. 2.0

Glad to know I am not the only concerned party when it comes to that rear axle. Wondering if its that far bck due to tire clearance? If removing one link from the chain causes tire to hit the chainstays, then maybe try a half-link? keep the rubber side down!

    aluminati v. 2.0

I have these silver aluminum 1/2" pedals that I think would look sweet on there. May not be the look you are going for though. Pay shipping and they are yours! keep the rubber side down!

    Nothing Special, CWC Hiawatha

Apparently I am a glutton for punishment... bought an E250 to convert into a camper van, when I should be wrenching on my bike... promise I will get back to building soon. keep the rubber side down!

    Westfield Wasteland

Being born in MA, I made it a point to make sure I built up a Westfield Columbia, and I think they are my favorite vintage bicycle. Not sure how, but I lucked out and the one I owned years ago without much thought as to what it was turned out to be a '56, same year my mom was born, and it came...

Looks close, is one side of the tire bead not seated fully, causing a flat spot? keep the rubber side down!

    Nothing Special, CWC Hiawatha

While I should be saving and allocating funds for this build, I happened upon a deal I couldnt pass up. When something like this comes along you jump on it. A friend is at Velofest in PA and found me a tank for my '56 Columbia, the price couldnt be beat, so I jumped on it... color isnt right, no...
