Careful there is math involved.

Mixing clear with the flat paint helps to eliminate the annoying "chalking" when the paint is wiped down. This has been a standard old school practice for painting auto engine bays and parts.

The trick with single stage flat black (not rattle can) is to mix the clear with the black. This is an old hot rodders trick to get a surface that can be cleaned.

Yes, you have twist teeth or ramps but you will never know the difference. The stock Shimano cassette cog had 9 squared tabs, grind 6 off and round off the other 3. Very simple, cheap, and lots of choices. Been doing this for at least a couple of decades.

I just finished the first of my high flange coaster brake hubs, Done except I need to etch the logo into the brake arm. This is a continuation of the one-off project by Guy Doss and Amir Avitzur but with more details and soon available for sale. These can be matched to my existing front hubs.

The first hub shell is finished being riveted together and the brake arm and brake strap have been polished. Just a few more details left to finish like electro chemical etching the brake arm logo.
