    Street cruiser...

The chrome is peeling off in sheets, and the rust is deep and pitted.

Thanks for all the positive comments... I got the fork today, and it will not work with my tires... I bought a 700c fork and the bigger tires fit fine width wise, but they are to tall... I'll need to find a 27" fork. oct

    Street cruiser...

The best thing to keep a build going, is to have parts arrive every couple of days... The tires came today, cream Schwalbe delta cruisers 700c x 35 (without the reflective stripe) bought some tubes and rim tape on the way home from work. Black shimano coaster brake wired in... Fork is...

    Street cruiser...

This is where I get a little nervous... Taking apart a brand new wheel... Flip/flop hub comes out, coaster hub goes in... Coaster brake is now wired in... Just waiting on some tires, and I ended up ordering a new fork... october

    NEW KLUNKER IN TOWN

Is it wrong to like the Transition klunker bike? I hardly ever see a production bike I'm interested in, especially cause I have the means to build my own... But when I saw that I thought "I might have to get one of those"... It kind of goes against what I believe in... But... I might have to get...

    Street cruiser...

Found a dura ace crankset in my garage... Took it apart and cleaned it... Reassembled... I don't know if it will line up, or if I'll have chainline issues... I also saw a new sugino crankset online, that I've had my eye on but I don't know if I want to spend the money... Oct

    Street cruiser...

I ordered a 700c wheelset that is Sun CR18's laced to formula hubs. The rear is a fixed/free hub, but I bought a black shimano coaster brake, that I'll have to lace in. With the help of my neighbor and his oxy acetylene torch, I de-brazed some of the cable guides, braze ons, etc. probably...

    Street cruiser...

I've been riding a fixed gear that I built last winter/spring... But I love coaster brakes... I found this vintage road bike at the dump. I am constantly amazed/perplexed at the things people throw away... It's a Falcon, made from Reynolds 531 tubing, it has campagnolo dropouts. The tange...

Went out for some late night winter riding last night... Still need to strip it down and paint it. It also has a lot of dump parts on it that should be replaced, like the wheels, tires, etc... october

    Bendix cogs...

No worries... A friend of mine gave me a second RB2 today, which seems to be complete! There is a dust cover missing from the one I had, that goes on the sprocket side. The one ge gave me has a different brake arm, which leads me to believe it might be a newer hub. I'll probably use the one he...

    Bendix cogs...

I have a bendix red band coaster brake hub I want to refurb, But it doesn't have a cog in it, or the snap ring. If I remember correctly, standard cb cogs won't fit on these... Anyone know what fits these? And do I need a special snap ring? Thanks! oct

    Springers...

The only experience I've had, was with the cheapo low rider ones. On one that I had, the steerer tube became so deformed where the stem wedge was being tightened against it. They just seemed to be cheaply made. I used a pyramid brand one on a bike I sold, that seemed a little better, but I...
