    Kona Wo

Cool bike! Probably no real quick and easy way to shed weight. Maybe lighter tires and tubeless, but even those gains won't be huge from where your starting at. I would just rock it like it is!

I would start with a 36 if your going to change your hub. Thats what he was talking about when he said its easy to modify. Im not aware of any way to actually change your freewheel hub to a cassette hub.

Big rings, small cogs does mean more speed, but on a mountain bike how often can you get over 30mph? Especially in the dirt. That being said, in the 90s I ran a 62t on my "downhill" MTB.

    mongoose beast crankarms

Ya that should work. Square taper is where the crank fits onto the bottom bracket spindle.

This one would probably work, you would have to get chainrings and bolts... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Andel-RSC-6-175-Triple-compact-110BCD-touring-cyclocross-crankset-square-taper-/171488639513?pt=AU_Sport_Cycling_Parts&hash=item27ed84fa19

Thats not square taper, so it won't work with your bottom bracket. More like this: http://www.amazon.com/Shimano-FC-M361-Acera-Crankset-170-mm/dp/B002FB2YA6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1412799354&sr=8-2&keywords=crankset+mountain+bike

Just look for a "low profile" square taper Crank. Or basically anything made after 1995

Why not just get a MTB crankset and remove the rings you don't want? There are lots of MTB cranks that would work.

    First Downhill Fatbike

I doubt you will ever find a MTB that comes stock with a ring bigger than a 44. But with the new cassettes that have a huge range, like 10-42, you really only need 1 ring to get almost all the same gear ratios as an older 11-34 cassette. And usually that only needs to be somewhere between...

Thats awesome! Glad it worked out for ya!!

    Another Beast Build

Thats a good deal. Your going to need to move the axle as far as you safely can to the drive side, and add some sort of spacer on that side to get the 6 speed to clear. I have it posted here somewhere from when I did my buddies bike.

    Another Beast Build

You don't have to go 190mm, but its super easy to spread the stays, and in my opinion will be better. 190 gives you more triangulation on the spokes, and gives you more chain-tire clearance. Ive used the Choppers US hub on a buddies bike. We were only able to make it a 6 speed and had to...

? help with rear freewheel chg on a Dolomite

Change the freewheel and leave the rest alone. If you love it, then buy a better bike with the upgrade money. If you hate it, keep it as a loaner, or sell it.

? help with rear freewheel chg on a Dolomite

If your serious about doing a lot of snow riding, you may want to get some different tires. The sidewalls are pretty stiff on the stock tires, and you may not weigh enough to really squish them down. Im about 230lbs and run 7psi in deep snow. Thats with Devist8rs...

? help with rear freewheel chg on a Dolomite

Just get the Megarange. It goes right on, and your chain and derailer will work fine. Lots have done this swap.

New Walmart Fat Tire Bike coming in a couple weeks

Thanks for the info! I would probably get the 26" wheel and use it in the front of the fat bike, or maybe the rear of a non fat bike. Too bad there isn't a kit thats around $400. but thats asking too much Im sure.
