Stopped the chain jump with one home-grown and another commercially available devise so the chain doesn’t get sucked between the crank and BB; my challenge now is getting a bit more tension on the chain. I have always had a challenge when going single speed on a bike built for mechanisms.
On a hub for a crummy department store bike comes crunchy ball bearings and an el cheapo freewheel. This el cheapo freewheel only has two detents on the body, no notches for a removal tool.
So, what do I do?
I am almost to the point on most of these bits I am shaving that I will have to file from this point onward. After all, the rear wheel is going to be in a place where neither rims brakes will work and a fender would be useless.
