What have you been riding lately?

Kind of how I feel about my ECR. :39:

My Lack of Shock Knowledge is Shocking!

My huge glut of work (since February) has now finally shown signs of ending. This will give me some time now for some of my builds. Thanks, God! :dance2: I'm dreaming up a design for a fork that will utilize a couple small motorcycle shocks. I've briefly looked on ebay and saw a bzillion...

    New Surly Lowside

As do I. I've owed an LHT, which I adored, but I was foolish and sold it. I now own a Troll and and ECR, and I'm working on a Pugsley deal this very moment.

    LED conversion advice

Perhaps give the zinc primer a coat of self-etching primer?

    Perimeter jig design.

I like it! I like your idea to put the uprights at a diagonal.

    Post-Apocalyptic Columbia

Just a word to say that I withdrew this bike from the WBO, but asked to have the thread moved here. There's no way that I can do any thoughtful work to this right now, but its still going to happen... just not for a couple more weeks at least!

Round town Klunkin' .....2/12 rear wheel built

Great work, Dizz. I've been a fan of McMaster-Carr for a long time now. For more than 25 years, I've spent literally thousands of dollars of my company's money at McMaster. Hundreds, maybe thousands of orders, and I can't recall ever being dissatisfied with anything they've ever set me. Great...

    Post-Apocalyptic Columbia

Yeah its that small crack. I know its there, so its gotta go! I'd have it done by now, but we're having a new kitchen installed and Da Wife is on my ... about getting some stuff done. No time for (bike) love.

    Linseed oil finish?

Has anyone here ever tried tung oil? Also, I've used Birchwood-Casey Tru-Oil on gun stocks and knife handles in the past, and it'll set up hard. Nice stuff. Just thoughts...

Good point, but still - not an excuse for shoddy craftsmanship.

    Post-Apocalyptic Columbia

Its been hectic. I've had some surgery on my back of which I've been in recovery mode. That laid me up for a couple days. Then when I was able to get around, I had to put out the fires that sparked up while I was down. Sheesh! No time for play! Anyway, I finally managed to get into the shop...

Tassajara / Sierra .. SSing the Fisher

Gary Fisher is owned by Trek. If you get one of the earlier made-in-USA frames, then you've got yourself a fine quality piece of gear. Same with Treks - If you can get an older lugged-frame Trek, then you've got a real prize.

Tassajara / Sierra .. SSing the Fisher

Nice score on the Gary Fisher. The older ones are really great for converting to touring bikes. Here's one I did last year.
