figured since wasnt gonna use them , and last owner said they were nasty with rust , so why not strip the original stem and bars to see whats underneath - stem came out fabulous ! it is a wald 314 the bars were a little rough, and coated in 2 layers of primer and 2 layers of flat black...

and this , changes the look quite a bit , but what to make inserts out of ?? opinions please ?? *edit* - i had one guy suggest diamond plate steel , and thats great, but heavy , they make that in lightweight aluminium ?
