    Those are some nice looking bikes!

    E=FreeRide

    Finished the bike and had a couple of test rides today. After a 20 minute blast around the neighbourhood, a friend called and suggested I come out with them and put the bike through some off-road action. Even with the 48 volt 30 amp BMS pack I had on hand it really did well considering it will...

    E=FreeRide

    We will see what the bike can take as it was built as an experiment anyway. In retrospect I agree that the shock ratio is now off as you can see it was originally planned to be about 2" higher with the battery along the top tubes. I made an unresearched change and decided to drop the...

    E=FreeRide

    Hi all! Been busy with other things lately but Don from Sunahme Bikes in Ladysmith invited me out for a group ride and loaned one of his super high powered electric mtb. I was hooked. That meant another bike build was needed, a mountain bike is one thing I've never tried to build before. I used...

    What are you running for a battery pack? Is that the new 9 Continent motor? What controller are you using? Inquiring minds want to know...:crazy:

    Looks great! Nice build. Retro-modern at it's finest. :thumbsup:

    Flow

    It's not totally a new build as I scratch built the frame a few years ago. This will be more of a retro-electric rebuild, where I'll get a chance to use some components that have been laying around the shop for awhile. The drive train is from the Science! build as the experiment there was to use...

    French Solar Powered Commuter

    You'd be better with a flexible solar panel on the roof of the velomobile. Any generator will add drag to the drivetrain which you would be pedaling against. Solar could work whether moving or stationary. :thumbsup:

    Phantom Retroadster Mk 2

    This is going to be simply amazing when done. It would be perfect for a Bafang bottom bracket electric assist. It is reminiscent of an old Jaguar. I love the enclosed front fenders on this one.

    vintage electric bicycle

    Nice vintage styling, a very tasteful faux-retro ride indeed. I'd consider some vintage pedals instead of the plastic ones and have some gold pin-striping done on the tank to complete the look.

    http://www.treehugger.com/bikes/its-tricycle-its-ev-its-solar-electric-velomobile-evovelo.html I'd love to build something similar for my winter commute to work. :113:

    GIANT E-bike!

    The most expensive part of any good e-bike is the battery, about $1000cdn for this one. The motor was about $400cdn, the rim $60cdn, custom spokes $1.75/ea, controller was $200cdn. This is not your average cheap eBay kit, these motors have top quality machine work compared to most others I've...

    GIANT E-bike!

    I've been burning around town on this bike for a few weeks since completion. The QS 30h hub motor is really powerful compared to the cheaper brands of motors I've been running up 'til now. This bike will climb any hill you throw at it and tops out about 54 km/h (30 mph) with a range of about 80...

    Ruff Cycles E-build

    I agree Falstaff, Ruff make some beautiful frames and the workmanship is so clean it's unbelievable. The fit is precise and the tig welds are so small it puts my mig work to shame. The owner had the batteries already before purchasing the frame, it would have been leaner looking if he had 3...

    GIANT E-bike!

    As I'm importing e-bike parts for resale, a bike that most people can relate to seems appropriate as a test/shop bike. I'm starting with a Giant hard tail frame I wasn't otherwise using, adding a QS 28H, 3000 watt Greentime controller and a 48 volt 30 amp/hr high output pack made from 18650...

    Ruff Cycles E-build

    Here we go, ready to be picked up. The owner has double the regular amount of wiring to sort out as he's planning to run two completely separate systems, the second controller is hiding behind the one you see, one thumb throttle on each side of the bars. My part is done for now, I'll post an...

    Ruff Cycles E-build

    Doing some fabrication work for a customers' Ruff Cycles electric build. We're creating a 2wd bike this time using 2x BMC gear drive hub motors, 203mm disc brakes front and rear, Brooks saddle, 2x 18650 cell high output battery packs and 2 throttles/controllers to ensure the front wheel doesn't...
