    Ohio ride?

I'd love to get in on this with my wife and I and possibly more of my family and friends. I have a bike crazy family. Please keep everyone updated on here with future dates.

    Vintage Bike Chains

    That's a great suggestion! Thanks!

    Vintage Bike Chains

And it's pretty obvious why the grinding noises were occurring. I also addressed that above. I do appreciate the help and I'm not an expert at all on these matters but I'm also not an ....., lol. I know this chain and this sprocket and cog do not match up. I'm trying to figure out what the...

    Vintage Bike Chains

I've replaced everything - new chain and different wheel set with the original sweetheart sprocket and the bicycle currently rides like a champ. Nobody is answering what I'm asking. I agree the cog is most likely shot. The question is the chain. I do not subscribe to the theory that it's simply...

    Vintage Bike Chains

I am not so much disputing that. But that cog is not even at the heart of my post. The pictured cog is the original one from the bicycle and from a worn out wheel which I'm never going to use. The chain somewhat fits this cog but does not fit at all the sweetheart sprocket which was on the...

    Vintage Bike Chains

Here are a few photos of the cog and the chain. I have searched and searched online images of Diamond 1" pitch chains and skip tooth chain and have found no others with the numbers on there. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place? Has anyone seen the numbers ("19" or "61", not sure which one)...

    Vintage Bike Chains

The cog is not worn out. I'll post an image of it later. The chain is also not stretched. It's made wider and the pitch is different. These are all good suggestions but this chain and cog are not the standard dimensions as seen on most of other chains.

    Vintage Bike Chains

Do you guys mind weighing in and giving me some information on vintage bicycle chains? I recently tried to mount what I thought was a vintage 1" pitch skip tooth chain on a 1930's Packard. The Packard came with this chain on it but the bicycle was not rideable and the wheels are about shot...

Any Ideas on The Age and Origin?

BTW, no head badge and the front and back bars/humps look a bit different on the front and back.

Any Ideas on The Age and Origin?

I bought this tandem frame in a pile of auction "leftovers" last summer and have done a lot of Google and Yahoo image searches trying to decide what make and year this may have been. I can't seem to find anyone who has seen one like it before. This is the perfect group of enthusiasts to ask. The...

    Trauma-Free Tire Changing

I do have to say, however, I was a little humored and slightly dismayed that after paying as much as I did for these 3 sets of rims and tires that one of the two tubes I have seen thus far had a patch on it, lol. If you're going to sell me spotless prewar Morrows you should at the very least...

    Trauma-Free Tire Changing

The newer tires definitely seem much wider and easier to take off and re-install than the older, broken-in vintage rubber I'm used to. I popped the Grand Typhoons off the Morrows with my fingers and put some Fat Franks back on and it was easy as pie. They peeled right off. I don't ever remember...

    Trauma-Free Tire Changing

I very much appreciate the great advice, gents. I ordered some levers so let's see how that goes.

Sorry - this probably should have gone in the "how to" section.
