Not to be "that guy" here, but did Schwinn even make a "Phantom-esque" cruiser in 1981???? At that time they were making "Cruiser 5" set ups, lightweights, etc. I'm definitely not a Schwinn expert, but everything on that bike screams of the late 1990's last-gasp "retro" Schwinns right before...

Hi there! I have one, and I have to admit, the finish/coloring they use on these seems to be hit and miss. It's like it does not have the correct adhesiveness or penetration into the leather they are using. Consequently, there seems to be a bit of cracking and scratching to the look. ...

Does the front hub stamp look like a "U" with some other stuff? That refers to a "Union" hub, and I believe is correct for the bike. I have a couple in the bomb shelter, If I DO NOT repost, the above answer is correct. Have fun!

Harley! i'm lovin' it! Keep going.... I like how the rear apes have an angularity to them that aims/suggests how high the front apes should be....where your eye wants them to continue....and sure enough, there they are! Combine that with the angles in the frame and you have got a great ride...
