Help with my new 81 Schwinn Cruiser

Not to be "that guy" here, but did Schwinn even make a "Phantom-esque" cruiser in 1981???? At that time they were making "Cruiser 5" set ups, lightweights, etc. I'm definitely not a Schwinn expert, but everything on that bike screams of the late 1990's last-gasp "retro" Schwinns right before...

    Hairpin Replica Saddle Question?

Hi there! I have one, and I have to admit, the finish/coloring they use on these seems to be hit and miss. It's like it does not have the correct adhesiveness or penetration into the leather they are using. Consequently, there seems to be a bit of cracking and scratching to the look. ...

    X-53 Question

Does the front hub stamp look like a "U" with some other stuff? That refers to a "Union" hub, and I believe is correct for the bike. I have a couple in the bomb shelter, If I DO NOT repost, the above answer is correct. Have fun!

    Changes?

Steve....don't change a thing! I came to this forum because I wanted to explore the idea of taking classic bikes/parts (which I had a lot of) and making supercool bikes that I WANTED to RIDE, not just look at. Pretty sure that is "rat". However, since I have been here I have been blown...

    Saints and Sinners

Harley! i'm lovin' it! Keep going.... I like how the rear apes have an angularity to them that aims/suggests how high the front apes should be....where your eye wants them to continue....and sure enough, there they are! Combine that with the angles in the frame and you have got a great ride...

My Nod to the Rat Rod Gods

...Uh Oh...on to me! Yup, as I said in my intro, I'm ditching the classic restoration and getting serious (well, as serious as "ratting" can be :D) - actually, the way Hooch is throwing down the parts for this build off he might just be pushing the envelope of REdesign - lovin'...
