Looks like I've got one vote already  On with the build... This the first time I've actually recovered a seat. IMG_0223 by LowpowerD, on Flickr IMG_0224 by LowpowerD, on Flickr IMG_0227 by LowpowerD, on Flickr Not bad if I do say so myself. A little more stretching of the cover and it...

Re: ***QuickSilver and the blood sacrifice. Looks like that hurt. Better your hand than your face. At least you're still pretty from the neck up! I hope you heal up soon.

    Tire restoration?

Has anyone ever tried using a rubber adhesive to fix cracking tires? Like shoe glue?

A good day in bike land

Yeah, you can keep on forgetting! This one still works.

Yeah, me too! I had some wheel troubles. The wheels with good rims had bad hubs. The wheel set that came with the bike has rust holes. So I busted the the hubs off the good rims. Trying to strip paint off the rims now.

    Need Western Flyer Info.

Is it just me or does it look like the rear rim is a drop center and the front is not. This would devalue it considerably. Also I don't pay much for ladies bikes. Maybe $65 tops if it's skip tooth.

Ok, I worked a lot of overtime this week, not much time for building bikes. I gave the seat parts white vinegar bath, etching primer and black spray. IMG_0208 by LowpowerD, on Flickr I'll try to finish the seat tonight...

A good day in bike land

So the wifey (Littlebluetrike) and I scored pretty good today. As I was finalizing my deal, she called me up to brag about her find. I'll show hers first. IMG_0214 by LowpowerD, on Flickr 1980 Schwinn Town and Country Tri-wheeler. And now for mine. IMG_0217 by LowpowerD, on Flickr Ladies...

Do you think this is safe to order from?

Hmmm...if you question whether you should trust them or not, then you probably shouldn't. That being said, I don't know anything about thing about these people. I've never ordered from them.

    POCA RATA "Little Rat" DONE!

Re: POCO RATA "Little Rat" It might be awhile before he updates. Threading his stearer tube is quite a project.

Yeah, it comes from hoarding. It drives my wife crazy, but I'm prepared for this bike build. Having problems with the wheel set, but more on that later.

I was fooling around at work tonight and started to fab up a seat post. IMG_0202 by LowpowerD, on Flickr It's 17mm diameter 1045 TGP, cold bent and shoved into a chopped down 13/16" Wald seat post. Also got this bad boy: IMG_0199 by LowpowerD, on Flickr Woot!

    what is a Morrow?

Morrow became Bendix so he makes sense to me. Awesome coaster brake hubs. Many pre war bike catalogs offered the Morrow or Musselman hubs as an upgrade to the New Departure.

I'm not sure the reflectors will make the final cut. We'll see.
