Those two are great finds. I'm not good at identifying bikes but the red mens looks a lot like the Huffy Silver Jet style frame, tank, console, sprocket, and rack. I'm sure they likely made painted framed bikes that were the same style as the Silver Jet but named differently.

WalMart does sell the acrylic craft paint in the crafts section. It's made in the U.S.A. and the small bottles are only like .50 cents IIRC. We've used it for all sorts of stuff around the house. We used one of the green colors on some foam for a outdoor decoration.

How does it ride? I never thought about running a 26x1 3/8" ISO590 for the front of a 26" ISO559 bike. I have a set of vintage 26 1 3/8" rims that I have debated what to use them for and your build has given me some new ideas.

Agreed, very cool how the story turned out. The chances of finding the service van he drove when he was a young technician. The van did have the usual problems one would expect of a vehicle that has sat for so long. Brakes, fuel system, suspension, seals..... but it looks as it had some of those...

Well I'll be. Just recently discovered I have a name brand Seersucker shirt. I bought it second hand at a thrift store this year, it looks hardly worn. Church is about the only time I ever wear it. Likely the only clothing item I've ever owned made in Ukraine.

You can buy all the front drum brake hand control and hookup parts direct from Worksman. I run the same Worksman drum brake on the front wheel of one of my bikes.
