I really agree with the paragraph on tubing. You need to also list as good components are the higher level Sun Tour and Campy derailuiers. Shimano 600 parts are great too. I have some roadbikes with the nicer Sun Tour and Campy parts I wouldn't trade for anything.
Like the way it looks as it stands except maybe the basket. But anything that is red is good in my eyes. Every car that I have owned has been some shade of red. Bikes on the other hand have been blue, red, green, chrome, etc.
I know I'm not much of a ratrodder but I do know touring bikes. May I suggest you try WTB saddles. I'm using what they call "speed v" I have found it to fit my bum. I have used Brooks saddles it took a long time for it to break in. (don't know if it was my saddle or my bum that broke in first)
They do seem to have a weight issue. Yeah my seat is maxed out too. Like I said around the block and that's about it. Thinking about putting a motor on it, but who knows for sure. Just as long as the boys are having fun with it. If i'm doing any long distance riding I have few other choices...
