PLUS they had $173 Shipping for it!!!!!! :crazy2::43:

EDIT: Looks like it was RELISTED since then.
Okay, all is right with the world again! Must have had two fools in a bidding war thinking it was an actual OCC Chopper Motorcycle!

I was going to say there was no way someone was going to pay for that. I have this happen frequently on ebay. 2 people bid something up well above its value and no one ever pays. Kind of a bummer as a seller I can not leave negative feedback for buyers anymore [emoji29]

Really, kinda messes things up for sellers then.

I don't know why people want so much money for these bikes, here in New Zealand we lack in us classic/vintage but we have a ton of these bikes either occ(sometimes selling for $1000)also variations like sturgis,DUB,and a few other company branded give away bikes but all use this frame platform all usually command atleast $400 that's for rusty ones,I got a satin gunmetal gray one for my older son for nothing the frame is slightly dif/better than occ,I put a 29" front wheel on it looks really nice, and I swapped a random MTB for a rusty stugis for my younger son,but on the plus side of things we also have heaps of 3G branded bikes that on a good day start at $50,average price $150 and lits of veriations single/3speed 24/26 24/24 24/20 20/20 wheel combos standard/single and double springers,so it is strange that these are cheaper but way cooler than OTT OCC bikes

That may explain this auction. I see that he had it listed that he would ship internationally. Maybe it was a crazy Kiwi and a wacky Aussie that got in a bidding war.

Most probably you be right King,I think the sellers of these OCC platform style bikes are hoping that tons of kids will see them and hassle their parents into parting with at least 400 clams for a well used one,and then realising if they break the axle its hard to get a new one in that long length, and if they trash the rear wheel its over

I remember a friend years ago had two eBay accounts so he could bid things up to what he wanted to get, I wonder if that may be the case here.

I've seen boxes of rusty junk parts... the kind of stuff that is given away for free or put at the curb-- go for a few hundred USD on eBay. I suspect it's some sort of money laundering-style scheme. This OCC bike might be that, or it might be a case where a goofy bidding war occurred, and then the "winner" reneged on the deal. Either way, it's pretty discouraging, and why I usually just use eBay for "buy it now" listings.
