    1st Bike Build (HeartBreaker)

Hi Spokes, what kind of adapter are you using for the rear disk brake? I have been looking for something similar for a while now for one of my frames. I believe that Goodridge makes a Hayes compatible brakeline that you can cut to the correct length to solve the routing problem you have...

Or before the hose clamp holding the frame together rusts off :)

Saw this stretch on the weekend...

Saw this stretched out rod on the way home from taking the kids to a Saturday morning art class. We were running to catch a bus so I was only able to get a couple of shots with the cell camera. It was outside the Ontario College of Art in Toronto.

    Bad Craigslist Photos....

I've managed to buy 2 Brooks Professional and a Swift saddle for less than US$20 each because of bad photos and descriptions on ebay. All were in perfect condition and were easily flipped (with better pics). It is always a good idea to process the bad photos with a good editor to see what the...

    I created a MONSTER

I would try to get a MTB with a decent frame and then add better components as you go. Personally I prefer a good hardtail steel frame (4130, Reynolds 631) over Alloy as the ride feels more responsive with a touch more flex. Unless you are planning to ride a lot of downhill I would go with a...

    brooks seat care

I use mink oil (the kind for winter boots)on my Brooks and it does the job pretty well. I slap it on both sides of the saddle and let it soak in for a couple of days and then repeat as necessary. Once the leather has been reconditioned, I shine the saddle up with bee's wax furniture polish...

    Long trip

Toronto isn't too bad as transit goes but it is getting almost too expensive to use. A round-trip anywhere in the city will cost you $5.50 and they don't allow bikes on the subway between 6:30-9:30 am and 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm on weekdays. They do however have bike racks on the fronts of most...

    building a better bike

I would run an 8 speed internal such as the Shimano Alfine or SA: http://www.sheldonbrown.com/harris/shimano-nexus.html http://sheldonbrown.com/harris/sturmey-archer-hubs.html They are getting a little lighter and are used on a bunch of 700c commuter bikes. They are available in coaster...
