I disagree. That gruppo (STX-RC) was a mid level group. I don't know who makes the frame, but but it certainly is not a department store bike.

I got these in from Specialized today. I've been eyeing them for a while but they were kinda pricey. They just put them on special(last years model) which means they are cheaper now and won't be around much longer. Still pricey at $38 each.

Very nice. I just picked up an '89 model. It is in decent shape but has a dent in the downtube. I am going to go to early-mid '90's spec on the rebuild.

I just stripped it. The only things I'm re-using on the bike are the frame, fork and bars.

I've been looking for a modern frame(non-diamond) that I can turn into a radonneur type bike for my wife. I picked this one up today on e-bay for $10.57. Local pickup. I will post "after" pics when I'm done.

You can have amazing results VERY lightly spot sanding the original paint and clearcoating. Admittedly it's not Concours material, but it preserves the original worn in look.
