What do you really think about another Breezer 1 clone build

What hubs would you want to use? I know Phil Wood hubs are out of the question both availability and pricewise. Also non cassette clusters? Rims? Substitutes for any other components you do not have? If only I would've known about mixte frames being so desirable 10 years ago. I had several come...

1962 Schwinn Typhoon 20" Pig Bike

P.S. So that's why they say "Tomorrow is another day"?

1962 Schwinn Typhoon 20" Pig Bike

I like that man. Now one for your consideration. I don't even know what those 6 other pics are. I only had one photo on this posting when I copied it from The CABE to move over here. When I was ready to post I had to remove a bunch of stuff I know I didn't copy but I didn't want to remove...

1962 Schwinn Typhoon 20" Pig Bike

It is still today, so here they are! The photos of the seat and grips are finally posted for everyone to look at, shake their heads and tell their children "See, this is what happens from years of psychedelic drug abuse". Seriously though, my friends promised me this wouldn't happen! I know the...

    1970 Schwinn Typhoon

Sure, photos and progress would be cool! I would like a lathe myself. Hope this one will be many years of fun! Oxalic Acid is much easier on chrome and other metals as well. I use Phosphoric Acid for quick tanking of Holley carburetors, it rips that awful Cadmium plating off and leaves the...

    1970 Schwinn Typhoon

Nice project bike! Can you buy Oxalic Acid powder over there? There is a thread here on using it to clean chrome without touching it. The stuff is fantastico! I am planning to clean an all chrome frame soon. Not sure, but I think you can dip chrome/ painted parts and it will leave the paint...

1962 Schwinn Typhoon 20" Pig Bike

This post is actually several posts compiled into one excessively long and eye gouging level boring post with as much useless information I could find or make up in the last couple days. I figured out I can write a post over at The CABE and transfer it words and photos complete here, and edit...

    Huffy headbadge

I may have made an error based on a photo of a bike that was supposed to be original except for the sissy bar and maybe the seat, although I have seen those Persons seats on Cheater Slick bikes. I have since found a bike on The CABE a guy bought from the original owner in 2016. The headbadge is...

Sorry to hear that man. It looks close. Good luck, Rob

How did they do it? (Painted yellow huffy glitter sissy bar pad)

If that pad is about 1" thick, padded with a small strip that slides over the sissybar I have about 15 of them. The paint idea is good because they were NOS stored stacked and the orange bled off on the front of the ones under it. So far efforts to remove the orange have been futile. If the...

    The Prowler

No problem man. That's one reason we are all here isn't it? Here are some options, I think the All Metal was what he told me about. Somebody in the search results was using JB Weld.

    The Prowler

Hey man, I have a friend that had a powder coating shop for years. He told me to use used a filler with metal in it. I think it may have been called Real Metal and it could be powder coated. It may be economical enough for little jobs but it would've required a second mortgage for me to use it...

WANTED AMF Flying Wedge chainguard brake levers and 5 speed shifter

I probably need glasses as well man, I quit wearing them at 15 years old. They made me look like John Lennon and I wanted to look more like Paul Stanley. (Didn't Happen). Fortunately for me the old eyes still see as bad as they did when I quit wearing them. That was 47 years ago. I do have...

WANTED AMF Flying Wedge chainguard brake levers and 5 speed shifter

Took a while to get back on this, the wear on the handle, lighting and photo angle made it appear to say 5.5.5. The handle actually says 3.3.3. as does the replacement handle I will be purchasing along with a new decal to help polish this turd into a maybe shinier turd. Thankful to have it, the...

WANTED AMF Flying Wedge chainguard brake levers and 5 speed shifter

I will check, I thought it was 3.3.3. but I will let you know. That would be new to me as well man. 3.3.3. was also early Shimano before they started giving g the parts bird names. Thanks, Rob

WANTED AMF Flying Wedge chainguard brake levers and 5 speed shifter

Not sure I understand about Shimano 555 stuff. What do you mean? Thanks for commenting, Rob

    The Prowler

I think it is black chrome, but maybe he will clear it up. Get it man? Clear. It up.

No hurry, I have the same problem and I am not ready. I am thinking about trying the 1K Clear. I worked at a body shop in the early 1980s, we used 2K clear on motorcycle tanks, it was excellent rock chip and chemical protection.

Have you tried that with the Rustoleum silver chrome?
