No. 3 build ready to kick off...

Battery box completed. Used 5" dia. aluminium tube for the shell, stainless louvered vent fascias repurposed as end caps, and a Munsen Ring and Hospital Bracket as frame mounts. Locating brackets for the louvered end caps brazed inside aluminium shell using Alu-build300 rods and my MAPP torch...

No. 3 build ready to kick off...

Wife Jen's care requirements take priority, so work on the latest project is slow and tends to happen in short spurts. Made quite a bit of progress since my last post. Finally received the spun hemispherical ends for the aluminium tank which I've now completed. 3-piece tank and alloy filler neck...

NEW BUILD UNDERWAY... Wife Jen's weight loss due to her dementia's relentless progress has reached the critical stage, but she's still hanging on in there, bless her. Her care here at home must remain my main priority but I'm still finding the occasional moment to enjoy faffing around with...

Motorized C90 scene - new to me, maybe not you

Kepspeed here in the UK are now stocking new BMX frames/forks with motor mounts like those I pictured in my original post that kicked off this thread. 'Cept these new frames are wider, capable of accepting fat tyres up to 180mm wide.

    Raydarlux Space Cadet

Not a Morgan. (Or a thread hi-jack, sorry) It's an Aero Cycle Car kit I built using my Moto Guzzi LeMans 1000cc's donor motor and rear shaft drive. Documented the whole build with photos. Sold it 4 months after finishing it in 2014 so I could crack on with the next project.

Debut eBike build underway - 'BLUE BAMBOO' stretch cruiser

One of the warmest days of the year today, so a ride out on BLUE BAMBOO was on the cards. Couple of shake-down rides under my belt to check for any necessary mods, then I'll strip her down for the frame repaint.

BLUE BAMBOO e-Stretch build is fast approaching the finish line. Just awaiting delivery of the pair of laser-cut-to-shape mirror stainless steel side panels. These will be used as a template when overlaid onto the frame so I can mark/drill the locating holes for the panels in the frame. In the...

Debut eBike build underway - 'BLUE BAMBOO' stretch cruiser

Decided to go with a rear fender. Original fender that came with the bike needed a couple of dings beaten out. Currently in primer but it'll end up being sprayed same colour blue as the frame. Used threaded hex rod to fab the new mount securing the fender's lower edge to the frame. Chain...

Debut eBike build underway - 'BLUE BAMBOO' stretch cruiser

Hey Toro, Promend brand pedals were sourced - like most everything else - via eBay. The only seller of these was in Hong Kong. No big deal, I buy a lot of my bike stuff from Chinese sellers, most all of who offer free or very cheap worldwide shipping. The cool fold down stand on these pedals was...

Debut eBike build underway - 'BLUE BAMBOO' stretch cruiser

Came up with some custom tyre lettering appropriate for an eBike.... Twin headlamps sprayed and fitted... Battery's chrome trim pieces added... Bamboo-clad 'tank' panel rebated to accommodate/hide rear brake cable...

No. 3 build ready to kick off...

Ha Ha. Wife Jen suffers with dementia after being diagnosed in 2013. Jen's a falls risk and can't be left unattended on her own, so being her sole 24/7 carer, building bikes in the same room is my best and only option. It's the best form of respite for me and Jen doesn't even care if we share...

    The Over-Watt

Nice additions. Seat upholstery? Nah. Leave it ratty. Said before I love that chain guard, but it would blend in with the rest of the bike's patina if you daubed some matching paint on it. Headlight too for that matter. Are you planning on adding a leaf spring to the forks, ala Indian? Carry on.

Your e-Snyder is so cool. A real wolf in sheep's clothing. Fork and chainguard add even more coolness!

Probably worth me saying my current e-stretch build is underway in the Electric Powered Bike section. Title: Debut e-bike build underway - Blue Bamboo

Debut eBike build underway - 'BLUE BAMBOO' stretch cruiser

Laced-up Blue Bamboo's new replacement front wheel. The black hoop, blackened stainless spokes, shiny s/s nipples and blue Rimblades mean the wheel now matches the rear. In keeping with the blacked-out theme, swapped-out the original chrome chainring, cranks and pedals for black ones. Used an...

Debut eBike build underway - 'BLUE BAMBOO' stretch cruiser

Clad Blue Bamboo's 'tank' panel with individual bamboo strips cut from an inexpensive bamboo blind. Been playing around with cardboard templates to get some idea of how I plan to conceal the bike's battery and controller. These panels will be cut/formed from sheet aluminium - and I'm hankering...

Debut eBike build underway - 'BLUE BAMBOO' stretch cruiser

Front forks completed. Used 16mm rod ends to secure the lower ends of the leading fork tubes to the axle. I drilled/tapped the axle nuts and used m5 bolts passed through a plastic dust cap to fix things firmly. Wide, pull-back cruiser handlebars provide an old guy like me with a much more...
