    BLACKBIRD (Skylark Convertible)

Are you going for the original fender look?, they made a nice looking bike back then.

They used to be able to make some cool things in the past, but not today.

Here is the tank I am using for a model for my warbonnett build, it is a 1937 hiawatha tank. I am reworking my front fender for a better fit between the forks.

Started fitting the tank on the bike, I may want to move it back some.

I started buiding a form for the toolbox under the seat today, I will have to fiberglass it and assemble inside the frame in several pieces, I want to put a door in it later also. I also did some work on the front fender, I will have to fix the defects, sand it and paint it, but before all...

Hi, no I don`t make fender braces, these are fiberglass on this fender and actually a part of it. I haven`t looked at my `41 bike very close lately. I got the glass fender fitting the seat tube better, ready for some grinding and bondo.

I have a `41 miss america bike so I made a fender off it, doesn`t fit this frame without modifications.

I painted the frame House of Rustoleum grape harvest ultra mat but I may clear it before I am done. I picked up a steel elgin robin tank for $20.00, it is solid enough for me to drill holes thru it to set over the seat post, just kidding, it`s a glass tank I paid $200.00 for a few years ago...

Do you have a bluebird tank you could copy?, one of those would be cool on a custom bike.

I`m starting with an old elgin bike and a new huffy bike, I plan to use as many new parts as I can in the old elgin frame. I`ve got the paint stripped off the frame and fork but not the fender. I thought I`d enter in class one while waiting for things on my class 2 build, here are some photo`s.

I made the front fender using a rear one and modifying it, it wouldn`t fit between the forks so I had to cut it out and recess the area where the forks go. I hope it will fit, I haven`t tried it yet.

This is fun since there is a lot of time to do the build, I still need a front fender, tank, oil/toolbox and a headlight. Oh a chainguard also, which I will make. There is still plenty to do but it`s fun since there is no rush.

Got my fiberglass rear fender made, did a little sanding, trimming and bondo work on it, still needs much more. Tried it in the frame to see how it will fit.

Got all the paint off the frame and sprayed some black on it to stop any surface rust.

I just stuck the horn on there, I`m not sure if I will use it on this one, maybe I need to make a rattier one to match the horn.

Here is what the back fender looks like when setting on the bike, when I get a fiberglass version I will have to trim it to fit better. I will also have to do some more work on the seat brace, since the photo`s I have bent the seat brace up to better match the curve of the fender and the other...

Thank you toro1978, I see it is a thermoplastic, I will have to look at a few you tube videos to see what you can do with it.

I built a back fender out of cardboard, bondo and fiberglass, something that I could make a mold off of, I broke it getting the mold off it but you can get an idea of what it looks like. After setting it on the bike I can see that the fiberglass version will need some cutting and...
